The only way to truly replace those guys is to draft and develop them. They're not available on the waiver wire, or via mid-grade free agent signings, or via trade (unless you want to give up a lot in return).

It's very rare that a team can effectively replace an entire aging core without sucking for a few years and rebuilding through several top #5 draft picks.

And speaking of high draft picks, that really sucks that we're going to likely miss the playoffs, and not even have a top #10 first round pick to show for it. That's like your wife leaving you because she catches you having an online affair with someone, but you don't even get to bang the girl (I actually know a guy that happened to, btw).

Crappy night to be a Caps fan.

Sam Reinhart is set to be a free agent at the end of the season.  He's currently sitting at 53 goals.  Just saying, the Backstrom and Kuznetsov salaries would go a long way towards paying him.

The analyst on the post game show, a former coach, was so furious about that penalty not called that he had to bite his lip and said I am glad I am not coaching tonight.

    Was it Boudreau?

Officiating sucked for sure, but the refs aren't to blame for us getting outshot 3-1. We were hanging on, trying to steal a win.

Despite the shots on the board, Carolina needed puck luck to get that puck in our net and keep it out of theirs.

Sure call a penalty on us but not on them earlier. 😡

And just like that they score again on their PP. :(

Less than 2 mins left in the game. Welp.

Yeah, there was a clear trip on Jensen, I believe it was, not too long before.

    Cleveland picks--Mekhi Wingo    LSU    Jr    DL    14    6-1    295

Was looking to try to grab him.  Not ultra productive, but the tape shows a guy who's got potential.  Needs to learn a few counter moves to get off blocks and he can be dangerous.  Problem right now is that when the line gets hands on him, he simply can't beat the block.  But add some counter moves like a spin to his repertoire and he might see a big jump in effectiveness.

  6. With the 169th pick of the draft, the Green Bay Packers select:
    Kitan Oladapo, S, Oregon State
    ukdknzroba3wgy6uzc63
Oladapo is a decently sized Safety at 6'2", 216 pounds.  Above average size matched with average speed with a 4.58s 40 yard dash.  With his height and reach, should be an option to cover Tight Ends.  I like his play in-the-box in run support; packs some decent wallop to his hits, and I've seen some nice iron-grip wrap-ups on plays that I think others would have been run through.  He'll compete with Cole Bishop and the returning Anthony Johnson for the Strong Safety position opposite McKinney, and I expect him to earn a spot on a couple Special Teams units.

Reminder that the U.S. is not a direct democracy - straight popular vote wins.

We're a representative republic. For electors to not represent the will of the people in their state is completely against who and what we are.

We would need to change that part first....

For states that have more than 1 district, is it wrong for them to throw all of the state's electoral college votes to the party that won the state's popular vote even if your district voted for someone else?  Isn't it going against the will of the people to have their district throw its vote to somebody that did not win the district?

The UN resolutions, the Genocide accusations to the International Court, etc. is not doing anything?

Technically, the government is on the right side of this war as well (as the other side is a terrorist organization.)

Wake me up when the UN does something beyond wagging their finger.
And no, it is not "technically" on the right side.  Would we be "technically" on the right side to support NAZIs because they're fighting against French Resistance terrorists?

And the government being on the right side has not stopped Russia from committing atrocities. Why the silence from the populace?

We are actively supporting Ukraine.  We're sending them weapons and intelligence to fight back.  We're issuing sanctions hurting Russia's ability to wage war; to the point they're stealing ****ing washing machines to scavenge computer chips because they can't buy them to make their weapons.  And now they have to rely on ****ing North Korean weaponry.  Because we're actually doing something tangible against Russia.  Unlike Israel where we tell them we'd like them to please stop committing genocide, and then turn around and give them more weapons to continue committing genocide.

Isn't that why there are protests against Israel?

We protest against Israel because nobody's doing anything about them.  The government is already on the right side of the Ukraine war.

Serious question. Let’s say you vote for Trump, Trump wins the election.

How does Trump handle the situation in Isreal differently/better?

My understanding of Trump is that he’s an isolationist when it comes to foreign policy. He wants to pull the US out of NATO and withdraw US troops/bases across the world. He wants to disengage the US military from any conflict. He said he’d let Putin (an authoritarian leader) attack NATO countries and let European countries fend for themselves.

How do you think he’d engage with Netanyahu/Isreal?

What country/leadership in the world is dealing with Netanyahu/Isreal in a manner befitting your tastes?

I disagree with your assessment that Trump is an isolationist.  He just wants to isolate from functioning democracies.  He cozies up to fascist despots.

  12. With the 126th pick of the draft, the Green Bay Packers select
    Isaac Guerendo, RB, Louisville
    72708907007-gty-1888575711.jpg?width=132
Guerendo is a pretty sizeable RB standing at 6'0" 221 Pounds.  And he's incredibly athletic posting an eye-popping 4.33s 40-yard dash, 41.5" vertical leap, and 10'9" broad jump.  When given a hole to run through, he hits it fast and can make guys miss at the next level.  With his elite speed, he can beat defenders to the outside on sweeps and use size to stiff-arm DBs to keep them at bay as he rounds the corner and turns up field along the side-lines.  He can be an effective 3rd down back as he's a capable protector for his QB, and is an effective receiver out of the backfield.  He could use a little work adding some more slippery change-of-direction moves to his repertoire, as he usually sticks to the trusty stiff-arm and his rocket-boosters to outrun defenders, and maybe some work improving his power in short-yardage situations.
