  1. He gets hit like that because he doesn't sense the pressure (actually moves to it) and doesn't let go of the ball till the last second (holds it too long). So he gets nailed. I saw the same Griffin that we got frustrated with here. So much athletic ability, but just doesn't do well in the pocket. I think he finished 4-8 for about 60+ yards and an INT.
  2. No, capri slacks are not a guy thing to me. Ladies wear them much better. Like Mary Tyler Moore did.
  3. No, everything else wasn't terrible. Cravens was great. Showed why so many are excited about his potential. I don't think it is hyperbole to say that Sean Taylor is the only other defensive player I remember to have a more explosive preseason debut. Cravens didn't come out of the gate like Taylor, but he came out fast. There were other good individual efforts that you would like. As I said in other threads, it is clear the Falcons game planned for this game, and we did not. They also kept many of their starters in for much of the first half. Whereas the Redskins had theirs out (offense and defense) after about 7 plays. I suggest you watch the whole game when you get the chance, and you will get a better idea.
  4. So much laundry I thought the refs were doing a striptease (shudder).
  5. Their top RB Freeman only had 9 yards on 5 carries. They finished with only 79 yards rushing. Where did they not hold up? If by "hold up" you mean stop EVERY SINGLE running play up the middle cold, then you want perfection. So you will be disappointed because not even the best rush defenses can do that.
  6. DC9 writes: Yep. Some of the penalties were the typical young guys and rookies making mistakes in a preseason game variety. Some were not. Dunbar, too. They are going to play themselves off this team with performances like that. In fairness to him, I'm going to wait till we get the left side of our line back on the field together (Williams and Lauvao). Funny thing is, Keim thought Nacho did great last night. Maybe he was actually looking at someone else. This is the big thing I tried to impart on people in the game day thread last night. It was clear the Falcons were out to win the game (otherwise, why throw six passes downfield like a playoff berth is on the line?). Our starting offense only played about 8 snaps. Our starting defense just two 3-and-out drives. Some of their starters played well into the second quarter (maybe longer). If this was Kyle "getting even" then let him enjoy his hollow victory.
  7. Probably the entire second half. Unless he is so horrible that they can't get any player evaluation done, and they have to pull him.
  8. Griffin got the starting QB spot, but he had that last year at this time as well. We know how that ended up. I hope Jackson didn't set this in stone.
  9. That means 10-6 for us minimum, if that idiot Evans thinks 6-10.
  10. And here are our fans who love the colors and swoon about Bruce's preference: :)
  11. Well, in fairness to ESPN, they use the name "Redskins" all the time. They just don't make their personalities use it that don't want to. Kellerman was actually the real asshole about the name. I like how Ryan Clark straightened him out about the name and about Dan Snyder.
  12. Glad you decided to join the club. You look around the league at what teams are wearing today, and the Redskins look like they stepped out of a time warp from the Brady Bunch era. The uniforms need to be modernized.
  13. Well, I don't want white-on-white myself. But I don't care for the ketchup and mustard look either.
  14. "Echo chamber"? Like the look. No one is telling you not to. You seem to have the problem with folks not liking the look rather than the other way around.
  15. Because it is a "classic" look, clearly not up to date, and being used for purely selfish reasons of one person.
  16. Manziel said recently that when he comes back to the NFL, he wants to play for the Cowboys. They deserve each other. However, the idea that the Cowboys and Manziel are working out a contract is just a rumor with no evidence behind it.
  17. I wish he'd give me one. I haven't had 'dog stew' in a long time.
  18. Yep, they win the division every offseason.
  19. Because it is news when a college player that won the Heisman Trophy and was known as "Johnny Football" falls like this. The sports news is saying this morning that he could face more disciplinary action this season for the domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend. He could face more suspension time after his 4 game suspension is up. Nobody is going to sign Manziel this year.
  20. He led the series in shots, points, assists, blocks, and rebounds. I'm not a LeBron fan (not really much of an NBA fan, really ), but, romantic nonsense or no, I'm with Magic on this. I have to give James his due on this.
