Have you ever heard of what they did to Indigenous children in schools up here (Canada)? Priests and nuns. Our government has been writing some very big cheques lately.

In Ontario, our provincial government has been implementing a $10/day child care system. It’s still in its very early implementation stages.

Agreed. I read stories of unprovoked/random physical assaults/attacks every day. Often, it chalked up to mental illness. Someone was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It’s as simple as that… there’s no understanding that and no preventing that. Same with accidents. Nature vs nurture. How much of each? Who the hell knows. Abused/traumatized people can move on to become fully functional members of society, while others are paralyzed or self-destruct. Some people have enjoyed a loving home/family and privileged lives… and commit suicide. Whats a stressor/traumatic for one person… is totally inconsequential for another. Ive know plenty of people that have sought out psychiatric help their entire lives and never figured out/solved anything. And these are highly trained professionals. I’m sure there are plenty of professionals and authors who have shared their understanding of cult of personality… and yet here we still are. 😂

I’m a (healthcare) clinician. One of the most common questions I get from patients is “Why (did this happen)?” After my initial education where I learned the first 5000 reasons why things are possible… and subsequent professional learning where I have read countless studies/research and authors authoritatively say they found the answer…. and yet all the problems remain and healthcare usage has never been higher… I feel confident in saying nobody really knows. In fact, a lot of research says just that… 90% of the time the mechanism is idiopathic (unknown). Yet, it doesn’t stop us from treating the symptoms (effects). You have a heart attack… your ER doctor doesn’t need to know what you were doing at the time, if you’re exercising, what your diet is like, etc…. in order to treat the patient. If you get into a car accident and get injured, your rehab/healing doesn’t go any faster or more complete knowing how it happened. You deal with what’s right in front of you. Why do people think/vote a certain way? Because they can. That’s democracy. I have 5 neighbors directly around my property. I have no idea how they vote, let alone why. And I don’t need to in order to vote. In fact, there was a time when your voting preferences were private. To this day, my parents have never disclosed how they voted. And democracy persists. 🙂 There is an implication that an understanding is necessary… and that it can/will be understand and perhaps even agreed upon if it is understood. And that simply hadn’t been the case in my life. Like that tantrumed child… I don’t have to like you. You may ask why? And “Because” is a valid answer. So is, because brown hair is stupid and ugly. And you’re entitled to those immature and nonsensical opinions. Now what you can’t do is be abusive to me because of them. Then we need to address your behaviour. Just like the child throwing a tantrum. I address the behaviour… because a child can throw a tantrum for a million reasons in the moment. And I can respond in literally thousands or f ways, including doing absolutely nothing and let the child realize it’s ineffective response. Magats May have awful opinions… but as long as they behave in lawful manners…. and not attempt an insurrection… that’s just democracy. Tyranny of the majority 🙂 Democracy sucks for minorities…. regardless of policy and morality.

Honest question. Why is there a need (necessity) to understand? What is it a pre-requisite for? This is all political theatre. Technically, all anyone can do is vote or run for office. Maybe donate some $$$. What am I missing? 🙂 I’m reminded of this comic.

Better yet, Trump isn’t running a presidential campaign for Americans. It’s merely his criminal defense strategy. It’s his last desperate attempt to avoid jail. That’s it.

Of course Hillary. That was implied. Trump is incapable and unwilling to care about any other perspective than his own. From his perspective, he is God, Nature, the universe, the United States, and every human being from the history of time, every hero and victim. He’s never talking to anyone directly, he does so just so he can hear his own voice. Even gibberish sounds are blessings.

The tackle position is completely bare right now. I expect Peter’s already knows this. I’m sure there’s a plan. Smith should have been considered an option. But at this point in his career, he isn’t THE all-in option. Its likely his last season. He just signed a 1-year contract with the Jets. The news out of Dallas was the Smith wasn’t practicing all week… and had a personal training regimen to get him ready for Sundays…. and he’s still going to miss almost half the/a season. Its entirely possible he misses even more time, or his play falls off a cliff because of age or new system. With that kind of risk, I don’t want to spend the type of money that’s reserved for top players in their prime. At least with the way things are with the cap at the moment. 😂

I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said. 🙂 I also don’t think it’s Smith or bust. It’s still very early… I’m sure there are other viable options. Peters has earned some leash…. so I’m prepared to wait until June mini-camps before I freak out 😂

If you want to ignore Trumps effect on the political landscape… and think this is all just status quo in American politics… then ok.

Re: last sentence. And they’ll take that 30% of conservative support … but MAGAs won’t vote for them. Either they’ll vote for other candidates or not vote at all. Which means they while they may determine the GOP nominee… they don’t stand a chance in the general. The only reason Haley was get getting 30-40% was because most people of those votes were Never Trumpers. Once you eliminate Trump… DeSantis is the only candidate that that had some steam. And he was castrated early. Even without Trump.

Moderate Republicans aren’t getting their party back. They’re not the base any more…. it’s a niche (they’ve been alienated) and completely toothless/inconsequential politically now. Even the Magas will be divided once Trump loses. And they’ll never support the Rinos. It’s going to be chaos for a few election cycles…. Canadians generally hate Trudeau. And yet he’s won the last 3 elections… because the Conservatives have had a leadership vacuum after Harper.
