pointyfootball
i can tell you this: the cheap seats at Vet stadium were home to some of the drunkest fans ever. And i was actually afraid for a few tense minutes. Never understood why people can't be like me: a "happy-to-have-5-hours-watching-a-game-&-drinking-with-buds" drunk.:2drunks:
ridgely00
Dude,Doc Walker said most of the players would not let their family go there. They are animals. As suggested wear neutral gear. I went to a box lacrosse game, the DC team won. They wanted to kill us. They tried to tip the bus over, threw bottles at it leaving. This before Red Bull and vodka was in vogue. Playsmart30
1. Root for the Redskins during the game, don't EVER BASH the Eagles.2. Pregame - Tailgate at the above mentioned tailgate, or don't plan on tailgating, just walk right into the stadium when it opens up (i believe 11:30 or 10:30?) 3. you will start @$$hole chants, f%@k you chants, and hear every curse and dis you can think of from your car to the stadium just by walking, don't let it bother you just walk right by. 4. If anything soft like popcorn or something gets thrown at you, then ignore it. anything that hurts, fight at your own risk! Hehe. 5. don't go to the bathroom at halftime! The worst things that happened to me were: 1. A beer cup thrown at me, right in the head. but it was empty and didnt hurt obvoiously, i didnt even turn around to look at it. Also popcorn same day. 2. I went to the bathroom right before halftime. I waited in line for 10 minutes before I was next to go. I was hearing crap the ENTIRE time I was in there, and nervous about the big dude behind me. Well he was the nicest (at the time) out of all of them…he talked football the entire time and was saying nice things about the skins. The only problem though, once I was next in line…he got me by the back of my jersey, and drug me (I willingly just went with it after he told me I was going to end up in the back of the line somehow), and he put me in the back of a longer line (about 15 minute wait). He was cheered as he walked up front to take my spot… lol other word u got bit** the whole time at that games. I will not go to eagles game in Philly only if me and few of my good friend going. smokinskinsfan
Not if your CP's mom, its not safe. Didn't people try and fight her one year, or throw beers on her or something...I hate philly!
DCchillin89
I was write behind Clinton's mom when she got doused by the Eagle ***** and then kicked her ass in the win and in game. Fortunately the ST dive was in that section too. My Advice: Wear Redskins gear but don't go overboard. I'm serious when I say that Philadelphia is the armpit of America and eagles fans are the scum of the earth. They are going to talk, but you have to put on thick skin, if you react or get pissed, they've accomplished what they wanted to do: agitate you. The eagles fans aren't scary or intimidating, but they are persistent in trying to ruin your game experience. If the skins win, the feeling is one of the best in the world and is completely worth the trek.
Thirtyfive2seven
I have to be honest I'd be intimidated to go there because I don't want to get into a fight. From the horror stories I've heard it seems like it's a bad place. I'd go with a bunch of other people if I could trust that they wouldn't start a fight. Godfather151981
The other thing is that while a lot of these Eagle fans are stupid, they're...not stupid. As someone else pointed out, if you're not cheering at the right time they're probably going to assume that you're a Skins fan going incognito. The one time I went up there to see the Skins, it wasn't that bad, but a lot of people told me it wasn't a typical Philadephia crowd either. I don't know...I'm debating on whether to go this year. I think it helps if you have at least four people with you. The day I went one of the people in my party was my cousin and his friend, and they're about 300 lbs each, so I was pretty confident that nobody was going to bug us. pjfootballer
Actually your first issue is...You're Dating an Eagles Fan! I think out of the 32 stadiums in the NFL, The Linc would be the only place I'd literally be afraid to go to. I'm not a big guy, so I'd have to recruit about 3 or 4 big guys to escort me. I wouldn't be scared of the Raiders fans. Some of the horrer stories out of Philly would just make me think twice about going there. It doesn't sound enjoyable. SkinStuckInTX
Wear your jersey, hat, whatever you have, and go to the game guns blazing. If you look like a scared little wimp you will not only let down your fellow Redskin fans as a whole, but probably worsen the abuse thrown your way. It's kinda like jail...you have to kick someone's @$$ the first day, or you'll become someone's b*tch. I'm a skins fan that recently moved to Texas (not Dallas mind you, but Austin) and I can't wait to travel north for the Skins-Boys game and get in those Dall@$$holes' faces! kleese
Glad this thread popped up, because I am going to the game this year as well. And I'm taking my wife! It will just be the two of us, no other reinforcements. She isn't a big Skins fan necessarily, but I got her a Portis jersey that she wears out of courtesey for me I am debating telling her to go incognito, but if I have my jersey on and she's with me, I think they'll put two and two together. I've been to two games in the Vet...once when I was a little kid and again in 1995 to see a Skins-Eagles game. We lost that game in OT and we were WAY up in the upper level, but I don't recall anything horrible taking place to me personally....but they DID literally set a Redskins hat on fire in our section. I'm thinking about splurging for club seats to this game...for anyone who knows...is that a better idea?
Thinking Skins
My birthday was this past weekend and I was so lucky to receive Redskins-Eagles tickets from my girlfriend who is an Eagles fan who lives in Delaware. The issue I have and I guess question for the board is, how safe is it at the Linc for skins fans, and what recent stories can you guys share with me to either ease my worries or encourage me to invest in a flak jacket.. aye man, if u scarred, say u scarred. touchdowntailgate
Toejam let me answer the first part of your question first: "Can I bring Cowboy fans to FedEx" That would be a big NO. "expect them to be safe?" Yes as long as they are respectful and dont start fights.
Cooley47Skins
Eagles fans arent even people, they are worthless animals who should in no way EVER be feared. They just talk a lot of **** and thats it. They only have the balls to do that because they have friends with them. Catch an eaglets fan in Fed Ex and they are quiet as a mouse with the Jeers. WeaponsOfMossDestruction*
Please do not listen to any of this mucho internet blogging about being scared or a puss if you value your wife and yalls experience at a football game. Honestly going into an apponents territory wearing your colors is asking for attention, asking for trouble. If you and your freinds were going, temp fate and roll into the eagles nest with skins gear, but since you and your wife are going I suggest keeping a low profile, don't attract unwanted attention from drunk eagle hooligans. RavenzSuck
Dude, I have been going for the past 10 years. The vet was worse than the Lync. If you talk smack, expect to get a lot of heat. If you just cheer for your team, you will be fine. If you do stand up and instigate the clowns in the upper level, you will be ridiculed all game. Just enjoy the game and dont be obnoxious. GoSkins561
On the flipside..Can I bring Cowboy fans to FedEx and expect them to be safe? First off, no self respecting Redskins fan would ever bring a Cowboy fan to Fed Ex. If I found out I sold you my tickets and you gave them to Cowboys fans I would ask for them back and gladly give you a refund. My nephew is a Cowboys fan, his older Brother, my other nephew is a Skins fan. I gave him the Redkins fan, tickets a couple of years ago to see the Skins play the Chargers, I didn't ask him who he was taking. You know the game we lost in overtime. He took my Puke fan nephew to the game, I was pissed. You deserve to be harassed for bringing Puke fans to the game.
