Gibbs Hog Heaven
So it's Saturday. I'm home, bored, and praying the players do the right thing and we can get back to football in the very near future. But before that happens and this place goes nuts when FA starts, I thought we'd have some fun and try predict the 53 man roster for week one and see who get's closest. I checked and could only find a "predict the starting 11" thread, so let's go the whole hog and tackle the entire roster. (Not what you hope for, but what you realistically feel they'll go with.). A late time passer before we (hopefully ..... Please God hopefully) get back to actual football sometime very soon. 'K, I'll start (Redskins FA's in Red/ Other FA's in Yellow): Offense. QB. Beck, Grossman, UDFA. I'll say (and hope for) Adam Froman. RB. Torrain, Helu, Royster. FB. Sellers (I'd just carry Young, but ya' know), Young. WR. Moss, Armstrong, Kelly, Hankerson, Banks and Robinson. (Got a feeling about him.). TE. Cooley, Davis, Poulson. OL. Brown, Ryan Harris, Hicks (Though God knows why), Lichtensteiger, Montgomery, Rabach (Again, God knows why), Williams, T., Marshall Yanda. Defense. NT. Bryant, Aubreyo Franklin (Don't want him, but with all the cap room it worries me they'll make at least one biggish splash), Neild. DE. Carriker, Daniels (They love his locker room presence and leadership), Golston, Jarmon, Jenkins, J. ILB. Fletcher, Henson, Riley, FA. Stephen Tulloch I can see them pursuing as it seems more and more like TN will let him walk. OLB. Alexander, Kerrigan, Orakpo, Wilson. CB. Barnes, Buchanen (He's an exp. body), Hall, Josh Wilson, Westbrook. (Again, he's a body. Cheap, plays teams and has had a year in the system.). S. Atogwe, Doughty, Gomes, Landry, Moore. (Another Hell knows why), Teams. K. Gano. (Though HELL knows why,). P. Paulescu. (See above.). LS. Sundberg. Hail.

Gibbs Hog Heaven
Do these rosters spend the required money? That'd be the aim with the re-signs and FA pick-up's. Just a bit of fun as to what they might do. Hail.
jpage520
Did I miss something? Why is Clausen's name mentioned in most of these? Also just for fun, who all thinks that Moss actually re-signs? And if he doesn't, who do we want? Holmes? Edwards? Rice? http://www.footballsfuture.com/2011/fa/wr.html Take your pick. It's a huge pool of guys this year. I personally want Holmes or Smith. Tana will always hold a special spot in my heart and if he does go somewhere else I hope he does come back and retire as a Skin. In my opinion he's always welcome to stay, but I thought I would throw this one out there in the spirit of the Saturday football daydream concept. Pedro
That'd be the aim with the re-signs and FA pick-up's.Just a bit of fun as to what they might do. Hail. And not long to find out for real I'm hoping all our larger contracts are for linemen on both sides. Yanda and expecting Brown or Harris for the OL and Franklyn and Cullen Jenkins on the DL. With those and what we have we can play a very young team and still have structure due good lines. I'm hoping anyway, I'd rather have a lot of young players than journeymen FAs so a few good ones and see what we've got is how I'd go I'd be happy playing Kerrigan and Orakpo flanking 2 of Fletcher/Henson/Riley with another rookie competing. I want to see Jackson get time on both sides at OLB 'cos he looked good last season. Hall and Barnes with Buchanon/Westbrook/rookie look ok behind that DL and LBers. Landry and Atogwe at S and I think our D will be good. Trent/Licht/Mont/Yanda/Brown is a decent line to run behind. Running right with Licht using his speed to get into the backfield means a young RB corps can make yards. Rabach should be a coach if he's at Redskin Park. One guy at WR needs to step up to add to Armstrong and Moss. See how we go with that and look to address and needs next draft. Too simple a plan though. Football 16hrs a day like MS et al and you have to come up with loads more just to fill your time

SWFLSkins
Most you guys have us picking up Houston at corner, and there are some interesting QB looks. I doubt Mike goes into the season without Grossman or another vet. I think McNabb is either the starter or he is gone, so my guess is he is gone. One guy even had Cooley missing, but I don't see how Kyle goes that way with more influence now on Offense, IMO, he uses more two TE sets. Nobody mentioned Vince Young and I still think that is a real possibility, considering Mike took a look a Jamarcus Russell. I don't think Shanny is married to any QB, but maybe they truly do like Beck and the talk is no smoke screen.

ixcuincle
Nah, I really doubt that Clinton Portis, Joey Galloway and Roydell Williams will be on the team. Yeah, lol. But AA and Banks will be on the team. Moss may be cut Good young WR rotation RB's are those rookies Redskins drafted and ATV Would like the brunt of the FA acquisitions to address defense, then Redskins might actually be respectable. Offense is fine.

Burgold
Yeah, I want the o-line addressed. Honestly, I'm not really comfortable with either guard or the center. SInce we have money to spend that's where I'd most like it spent. That and a corner. I swear, Jim Abott playing with one arm tied behind his back could catch more interceptions than Rogers.
