skinsfan12
Here's a worthless exercise and just another futile attempt to fill the pre-draft airwaves. I've collected mock draft results from 30 websites and posted them to give an idea of the "concensus" for pick #9. 1. Football's Future - Braylon Edwards, WR 2. Inside the Eagles - Antrel Rolle, CB 3. Draft King - Antrel Rolle, CB 4. Draft Gurus - Antrel Rolle, CB 5. Heard's Football Report - Carlos Rogers, CB 6. Draft Studio - Adam Jones, CB 7. Ourlads - Carlos Rogers, CB 8. Fantasy Tailgate - Antrel Rolle, CB 9. NFL Draft Countdown - Troy Williamson, WR 10. Lionbacker - Antrel Rolle, CB 11. NFL Draft Blitz - Carlos Rogers, CB 12. Pro Football Draft - Antrel Rolle, CB 13. Draft Daddy - Braylon Edwards, WR 14. Draft Ace - Antrel Rolle, CB 15. 110 Percent Football - Antrel Rolle, CB 16. On the Clock - Troy Williamson, WR 17. Draft Insiders - Mike Williams, WR 18. Huddle Geeks - Marcus Spears, DE 19. Draft Season - Antrel Rolle, CB 20. Draft Notebook - Braylon Edwards, WR 21. GBN Report - Shawne Merriman, DE 22. NFL Report - Adam Jones, CB 23. Ask the Commish - Adam Jones, CB 24. The Football Expert - Adam Jones, CB 25. FF Toolbox - Braylon Edwards, WR 26. Football.com - Adam Jones, CB 27. NFL Draft Showcase - Carlos Rogers, CB 28. FOX Sports - Erasmus James, DE 29. QI Sports - Shawne Merriman, DE 30. FFToday - Erasmus James, DE Breakdown by Player Antrel Rolle, CB - 9 sites (30%) Adam Jones, CB - 5 sites (17%) Braylon Edwards, WR - 4 sites (13%) Carlos Rogers, CB - 4 sites (13%) Troy Williamson, WR - 2 sites (7%) Shawne Merriman, DE - 2 sites (7%) Erasmus James, DE - 2 sites (7%) Mike Williams, WR - 1 site (3%) Marcus Spears, DE - 1 site (3%) Breakdown by Position CB - 18 sites (60%) WR - 7 sites (23%) DE - 5 sites (17%) What this proves... (A) Anyone can post their guess at the draft on the web ( There's no concensus on a player or position © Anything can happen on draft day, from trading down, trading up, picking any of the need positions (CB, WR, DE), picking from the Best Player Available (top two QBs), etc... Obviously, this exercise could be extended to hundreds of websites proclaiming their mock draft results. I thought 30 was plenty to try to reveal a trend in what the greater community might feel will be the move at #9. One thing these sample web sites have in common is that none of them are associated with the Redskins community and have no real thumb on the pulse of the goings on that we (as avid members of extremeskins) may have. No doubt a better prognostication would result from the rumblings contained within extremeskins. .
JMac
Nice post. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Im sure by next week this will all change.
TheDane
Nice research. It makes sense to me, given the needs of the teams picking before us and the perceived needs of the Redskins. Now what if we add in the potential for trading down ... :type:

skinsfan12
Of course, running this exercise on the same websites next week or on a new group of 30 today will most definitely yield completely different results. Perhaps this is a barometer for March 31st (although I totally miss how the heck we have a shot at Braylon). .
jbooma
Why isn't the CB from Auburn getting much play as a top CB?? I thought he was better then the others, just had an off year.
Duke
Thanks for the effort. I think when the real time comes, we'd be somewhat seeking a trading partner to trade down and gain a second. We have too less picks on hands right now. I hope...

Skins3000
Lets not forget the Steven Jackson smoke screen last year when many teams projected him to be drafted between Philadelphia which was like 18 and the Cowboys which was 22 and he went to the Rams at 28. Many thought the Cowgirls would take him but drafted Julius Jones because he brought more to the table. Jones did not have a better year than Jackson in college that year but Jones had the p word potential. Edwards or Williams can become a possibility based on teams needs, salary cap, or evaluation of another player that may fit their system better than another. Jimbo
Nice research but what this really shows is that most Mock geeks know what our draft needs are and that nobody knows how our FO has rated these guys vs. who will be available at the #9 pick. LightenupSandyBaby
Great Job...your thread puts a little more certainty on something unpredictable like March Madness
terpfan
That's pretty cool. Nice to see the percentages...I think the only way we don't go CB is if MW or Edwards is there or Rolle and PacMan both arent.
jrockster21
Originally posted by section 226 Nice research in doing this. How in the heck do these guys figure Edwards is going to drop to 9? From all that I've been hearing, Edwards is the consensus first wide-receiver that will be picked...which means it most likely WON'T be by the skins. I'd like to see Merriman or Williams taken...DE or WR, no CB's.

iheartskins
Thanks for putting that together skinsfan12. I can definitely appreciate the effort it must have taken to put that together. Also, per your request, I've integrated the videos into the player threads in the War Room.
