cscmtp
he is mobile, has a CANNON for an arm, and is a pretty smart guy. No, he's not a star, but i swear with our weapons, he'd be a great QB. And he would cost a LOT less than Brunell...
SkinFaninOKC
I'd take Brian Griese over Jay Fiedler. Drinking problem and all.
Ghost of
Pennington completing the long pass and it resulting in a TD to WAYNE CHREBET lol Yeah, I'm sure the problem is that our WRs can't get open deep. Don't be stupid, whoever believed that.
Bat~man
yea fiedler was decent with ricky williams there , he won a lot , id take him over brunell at this point , he looks bad but miami is just bad no WRs no RBs , nothing ....
Leonard Washington
pennington has no arm but he got that in there
matty dread
Cannon for an arm, are you serious or have you been watching pee wee ball all weekend?
Da_Truth
I would do well in our offense compared to Brunell. You can bank that. I'll even sign for 2 million. What a dumbass move to sign Brunell for 42 million dollars. I've seen 3rd stringers who played better.
cscmtp
nope, watched brunell throw this weekend. i guess it all makes sense now...
chiefhogskin48
Fiedler looks much better than Brunell, and he's getting bullrushed on every down.
Zen-like Todd
Fiedler is a mediocre QB, but if Brunell made the throw to Cooley that Fiedler just made to McMichael down the middle over the LB, your jaw would drop in shock and surprise. We just don't get those kinds of performances out of our QB. So sad.
Skins26
Fiedler isnt bad but he certainly doesnt have a cannon for an arm, not even close.
The Sisko
Strangely enough I had the same thought about Fiedler while watching the Miami/Jets game. Another plus for him is he has experience running Norv's offense which fell from the same Air Coryell tree as Gibbs' system. He may not be there after next season and would probably provide a cheap and reliable backup to Ramsey next season.
mookie0720
He has Chambers at WR and McMichael at TE, he does have some weapons
Joeythetapeworm
"Another plus for him is he has experience running Norv's offense which fell from the same Air Coryell tree as Gibbs' system." This is a little bit off topic but can anyone point me to a website that explains football systems and from which other systems each originates from? I'd love to read up on different systems, the philosophies behind them, which systems they were born from, etc. etc. etc. Football strategy, especially antique football strategy (the single wing, air coryell, and everything in between) fascinates me. Thanks
Ignatius J.
Is he a free agent next season? He should definately be on our radar.
SlinginSammy HOF '63
Maybe we could convince Miami to trade Fiedler for Brunnell

Thanks Bump. I'd like to see a good read on this too. Sort of like a family tree of systems. A lot of the remnants of Air Coryelll exist in the league, and Bill Walsh disciples run half the teams right now, it seems.

ibrahim
Great bring in another QB next season, so when we start losing, we have the "he is still learning the system" excuse. I think our QB for next season should be one of Ramsey, Hasselbeck, or Brunell.

I agree w/you ibrahim, I think honestly out of the three QB's we have the best fit for this offense right now is Hasselbeck. He is an accurate passer, he's smart, he is mobile and he throws well on the run. All he lacks is exstensive game experience.
jrfriedm
Anybody would be better than Burnell.
Canadian Hog
You mean the same cannon armed Jay Fiedler who could not put to rest the Fiedler/Griese controversy last season despite having a huge weapon in Ricky Williams in the backfield? You mean the same Jay Fiedler who Miami thought so highly of that they traded a second round pick for A.J. Feeley? Please.
