What CDs are in your player right now?

I'm creating this thread at 3AM EST for a few reasons. One would be boredom. I also want to gage what's out there that doesn't suck, because I'm always looking for the next great band. I also think it would be cool to see what the people in this community are listening to. So let's make it an ongoing thread, an experiment if you will. What CD(s) are in your stereo right now? (accompanied by a small description, maybe)

I'll go first:

-Rooney - Rooney (Beach Boys meets Strokes, mellow sound)

-Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand (Artsy dance rock)

-Green Day - Kerplunk! (great early stuff from the kings of pop-punk, garage-ish sounding)

-At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command (brilliant emocore-esque, just perfect screamy punk)

-Catch 22 - Keasby Nights (emo-ska with swing and punk undertones)

-The Living End - Roll On (thanks goes to Ancalagon for reminding me of these guys, AWESOME rockabilly/pop-punk/anthem kind of music from the Land Down Under)

Yellowcard-Ocean Avenue (new style emo)

Billy Talent-Self Titled (AMAZING Canadian band, you will love em)

Cauterize-Self Titles (great new rock band, really easy to listen to)

I'm listening to a couple of different things right now:

Dispatch - Bang Bang (indie pop with light reggae influence. Breaking up this month...feeling some nostalgia)

O.A.R. - Wanderer (Another pop band with reggae influence. I saw them recently and decided that they are much better on CD)

Jah Works - Live Vol. 2 (Baltimore Reggae Band. Better live than on CD)

Black Eyed Peas - Elephunk (I think most people know BEP from either the NBA or the ipod commercials)

Jet - Get Born (Yeah, I know. Another ipod commercial.)

And two oldies:

Everlast -Whitey Ford Sings the Blues

Green Day - Nimrod

How is that Mahavishnu album? I've got Birds of Fire and The Inner Mounting Flame somewhere on vinyl. I've got to get around to recording them. BTW, have you ever hear the album McLaughlin did w/ Santana? (I think it's called Love Devotion Surrender). I quite like it - the two of them compliment each other quite well.

I have tapes, not CDs, in my car.

Tons of Sobs/Free - Free

Molten Gold - Free

Layla - Derek and the Dominoes

Dire Straits 1st /Communique - Dire Straits

Blood Sugar Strat Magik - Chris Duarte (a must for SRV fans, though is other LPs pretty much suck)

Loud Guitars, Big Suspicions - Shannon Curfman

Trouble Is - KWS

Left Hand Brand - Gales Bros

I was listening to Jimi Hendrix on the way into work this morning. "Electric Lady Land"

My others are :

Jeff Buckley (Grace)- Incredible voice and good guitar work too.

Eric Clapton (Clapton Chronicles) when I want a lil blues I call on him.

Prince (Sign O the Times) He's the man. The Prince of Funk Rock

Living Colour (Times Up) I love these brothers from NY in the 80s' IMO this was their best album.

Wes Montgomery (Willow Weep for Me) The best Jazz guitarist ever IMO.

That what I have in the ride now. My tunes change like i change underwear. :)

Court of the Crimson King... Yes, that's it.

The Mahavishnu "triden sessions" album is awsome. I have inner mounting flame as well. I'm sure the Trident session album isn't as Tight or polished as the first two studio albums because it was never released, but I was blown away. Very cool indeed.

I'll check out the McLaughlin/Santana album, Sounds interesting. I'm starting to check that kind of stuff out now. I'm also going to get a couple of Billy Cobham's solo stuff with Tommy Bolin.

Great responses, guys. Kilmer17, glad to see someone is still listening to the Kennedys. And that RBF CD is great. Posse81, I haven't heard the Stellastar CD, but I heard that one song on MVP Baseball 2004, and it's really good, so I'll have to check out the CD. I'm also going on a 5 hour trip to Gainesville this weekend, so I'm gonna pick up the Kings of Leon CD this afternoon. Seanskins, I'm going to check out Billy Talent. Heard good things about them. And bofluid, that Franz Ferdinand CD is sick. I love it. Thanks again guys. Keep responding!

PS - To quote the great Jack Black (kinda), for those about to rock the Green Day, I salute you. September 14th, Green Day's American Idiot, be there.
