VAsBeachBoy
I am going to start a new 10 part series of threads with a series of polls. It will ask who you think had the best steals in prior drafts. While of coarse many of these might be unanimous hopefully this will distract us away from the offseason lull we are currently in just long enough to start the season. First year up is 1994, and I will go all the way to this year.
VAsBeachBoy
The next poll will probably be tommorow so that we can drag this out a bit. By then I'll think of something else interesting to do.
WallyG3
Larry Allen should have been a top 5 pick in retrospect. As much as it pains me, I have to vote for him.
H@iL2Gibb$
Jason Gildon

RDSKNfaithfull
Allen is a sure thing for the HOF and has been the best at his postioin for a long time. He was better than most tackles on one leg last year.
The Sisko
Any Redskins fan that doesn't vote for Allen just wasn't paying attention as he helped Emmitt Smith get to the rushing record....with many of the yards coming against us.
VAsBeachBoy
Allen probably was one of the best choices in that draft. I left a few out on purpose who were in the second round. Players like Kevin Mawae, Brentson Buckner, and Charlie Garner to see if anyone would shout them out. Another thing, How was or when was Jason Gildon drafted in 1994. I now know he was but how. Was he a rookie free agent, if so he was the obvious major steal. Anyone know?????
VAsBeachBoy
Since I am going to be doing this many more times, I wanted to make sure you guys address the draft spot of the player when you choose your draft steal. Take a long hard look at the round they were drafted in and if that made them more of a "STEAL" than a second rounder. Also I am not including first rounders on purpose to implify the purpose of a "steal". Just wanted to point these things out.

Sebowski
7th round; pick 201 - Jamal Anderson Falcons RB Utah By far the steal here. Great site for this stuff: http://www.drafthistory.com/

And I don't think undrafted people count. The poll is about draft day steals not undrafted greats. I'd have to put Priest Holmes near the top of the undrafted list. Se7en_Dust
I voted for Dorsey Levens, because he turned in first round play with such a low pick.
The X-Factor
Enough though I hate to say this, it has to be Allen. HOF lock and one of the best to play his position ever. The other guys are good too, but they can't match the accomplishments of Allen.

Skinned
Any time that you get a HOF player outside of the 1st round, it has to categorized as a huge steal. Allen is my vote
Jay Master Jay
Larry Allen easily is the choice
Henry
How can you not vote for an eight time pro-bowler? My vote goes to Allen, with Harrison next.
KevinthePRF
Emmitt Smith would still be chasing the record had Dallas drafted anyone else. Allen.
