c4man5282
Think if Clinton couldn't get 26 from iffy he would go with 28. That is what he was in college. http://64.238.110.206/images/um/augie/Canes/Individual%20Canes-Indexed/Portis,%20Clinton/

Phat Hog
He'll more than likely get #26, but no way he gets #28!

Green may smile in his face, but he definitely wouldn't like the idea. Don't let the charm fool you, Green's 28 is sacred to the Skins and no one, especially Green, would let it happen. Mooney
If anybody ever ran out wearing #28 at FedEx, he would have 92,000 fans on the field tearing it off....
Mr. Nostril
I see no problem with Portis taking 28. Sure Green is one of my favorite Redskins ever (along with Art Monk and Russ Grimm), but who cares? People remember players for their accomplishments not for their number. All the crap about retiring numbers from being used is pointless. No need to commemorate someone's achievements if someone's achievements are worthy they'll commemorate themselves. kappaluvacee
I know WR's were granted the right to wear numbers in the teens, even if there are available numbers in th 80's. I'm not sure abut RB's though. I will be glad when the number thing is squashed and these guys' jerseys are available.
codeorama
I wish NO numbers were retired. It gets ridiculous after a point. Everyone knows that DG was great, another player wearing that number does nothing to tarnish that.
