I think he’s more short range with long range ability. I don’t think Cam is a traffic guy. Mingo has that potential. So at worst he’s Cam Sims. At best he’s Garçon Lite

I'd take Garcon-lite. Garcon was a great possession receiver for us.

Josh Downs, coming at 5 '9 and likely ends up (after the official times) with similar speed to his old teammate Dyami Brown which is good for someone his size but not special.  Wonder if they hold it against him?

If Downs drops into the third round, IMO he'd be on the table for me.  High floor slot WR IMO in the NFL.

If you want to give Howell an old teammate with good chemistry -- I like him on that front more so than Dyami.  Downs had a great year last season but had an even bigger year with Howell.  Downs had even better numbers than Dyami did with Howell.

Downs is more in the Terry-Jahan variety, that is he can seperare on all three levels on the field.   Even though he's not a big dude, he's feisty at the catch point, really good contested catch guy.  High floor slot WR with built in chemistry with Howell.

Not in the 2nd for me but late 3rd if he falls that far he's at least a maybe for me.

Downs is tempting but WR is such a luxury pick for us this year with so many issues along the OL, LB, and secondary.

Agree it’s luxury, so that’s why I didn’t say first or 2nd but especially if they trade down and add picks I am a BPA guy especially as you go down further in the draft when the bust rate is high. Our third rounder is at the end of the round it’s practically a 4th

RE: Richardson ... history is littered with the corpses of late draft movers based on stellar workout performances at the combine who then flame out once in the NFL. Again, I'm only a buyer if they've shown signs on tape and have done so with some consistency. Especially in the first round and especially with a QB.

That dork in NYG wants 40mil per year. Philly GM says keep drafting them. Keep going. It’s a definite lottery, but hey, you win you win massive. Or you take a guard. Be interesting to see who has the balls. Someone like Indy probably trade to #1 and says what the hell.

I like Branch, was wondering if he is still there at 16, now i do think he wll be

https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2023/insider/story/_/id/35763334/2023-nfl-combine-top-draft-prospect-workouts-risers-fastest-40s-takeaways-buzz-every-position-group

Brian Branch, S/CB, Alabama: One NFL scout watching the workouts inside Lucas Oil Stadium texted me that Branch -- a potential first-round pick heading into the week -- was the most disappointing workout of the day based on expectations. Branch, who is 6-foot and 190 pounds, had a vertical jump of just 34.5 inches, tied for 16th-worst among all defensive backs at the combine. Perhaps most disappointing was a 4.58-second run in the 40-yard dash. Branch wasn't expected to be among the fastest players at the combine, but that time will bring into question his ability to play in the slot in the NFL -- a position many teams are projecting him. He is a versatile coverage player who has experience at cornerback, nickel corner and safety, and teams love that versatility and instincts. But the limited burst and open-field speed will be concerns. -- Miller

Keim

https://www.espn.com/blog/washington-commanders/post/_/id/42806/eric-bieniemys-success-with-commanders-depends-on-answering-3-key-questions-on-offense

Will they fix the offensive line?

They have no choice. Not every issue in protection stemmed from the offensive line -- sometimes the tight end blocking was subpar; other times the quarterback held the ball too long – but a lot of them did. Washington could end up with at least three new starters along the line.

The Commanders must first decide how they view Sam Cosmi, their second-round pick in 2021. He has started 14 games at right tackle, but also started one game at right guard. The team views him as being able to play either position; Cosmi said at season’s end he wanted to stay in one spot.

Some of that will depend on what happens this offseason: If the Commanders add a tackle, Cosmi could move to guard; if they add guards he could stay at tackle. Rivera said that versatility provides them flexibility with who they pursue.

Trai Turner, who started 12 games at right guard, is a free agent. Andrew Norwell, who started 16 games at left guard, has one year remaining on his contract but Washington could save $2.28 million on the salary cap if it released him.

The Commanders want more athleticism inside. If Bieniemy incorporates the Kansas City Chiefs' screen game, it will need players who can execute in space.

Washington also must decide on a center. Chase Roullier has played only 10 games combined the past two seasons because of injuries. He fractured his left fibula in 2021 and needed plates put in the bone and his ligaments to be reattached. Last year, he tore the MCL in his right knee.

If he returns, he’d count $12.42 million against the cap. Tyler Larsen, his primary backup the past two years, is a pending free agent. The draft is considered a good one for centers.

“Obviously, there's a need to continue to add young people to that group,” general manager Martin Mayhew said of the line in January.

Stetson Bennett is having a good day. But those corner routes are hanging a little. But he’s looking much better than I thought. Good day for sure.

Cant wait to see Stroud.

Malik Cunningham’s arm is lacking. Big time.

Really enjoying this live Combine tracker on the NFL.com site. Has historic all time best performances there as well. Nicely done by the NFL.

The tracker is fantastic. I wish the live coverage had the receivers names in the screen along with the QB names. Some of these dudes are struggling on some of these routes and I can’t tell who they are

Late mover? Hes been considered a first rounder since about mid september to most fan watchers. Ive been saying hes a first rounder since he started in 2021-22 season.

With teams moving up to get a QB, if Quentin Johnston falls and there aren't any good CB/TE/OL options available, would you be opposed to something like this

image.thumb.png.a3b14eec0fe217fdac28a99b3cc3f060.png

I wouldn’t take Johnston in the first. If I saw him run more traffic routes in heavy zones I’d be more inclined. His skills are obvious. He’s good. But a vert route specialist isn’t what this franchise needs. We need our interior guy who can catch drags and slants in traffic.

4.44 for Charlie Jones unofficial.

Hope it’s slower officially. Don’t let him move up teams boards. I want him to fall to us in the third :ols:
