REDALERT
Any Ideas? Oh! And you guys better not be pulling my legs on this Gibbs stuff either:40oz: Anyhow, I can see Gibbs snatching a RB at #5 and Us bringing champ back and champ wanting to stay. @DCGoldPants
He might trade it for a big running back.
Dexter's Better
We trade it for Cinci's #1 and Cory Dillon
KDawg
Really wish we still had Davis, perfect back for a Gibbs offense
bubba9497
Trade down, get two 1st, take Greg jones of FSU, Ben Troupe of Florida, and pick up some late round steals at DE. I think we would nab a top FA DT and DE if he came back.
BG
Troupe won't be there where we might land in a trade. He'll go b/w 10-15.
Skeletor The Invincible
Troupe won't last to the second. Steven Jackson would be a prime choice for a Gibbs offense.

Even Madder
Too bad about Davis. I think Gibbs would still want to work on the DL, but he's gonna need a good RB. He's got his Hogs and Fun Bunch, but he needs a Riggins and a Butz, Mann, and Manley.
JerseyGator
Didn't Gibbs rely on two good TE's? Maybe get somebody like Kinney thru FA and Winslow in the draft.
Montilar
I don't see Gibbs taking a TE in the first. He wants them to good blockers 1st and capable catchers second. He don't need someone like winslow, who would have a high cap hit. I see Gibbs targeting a RB or DL. I do think an attempt to trade down will be tried. What's the easiest way to guarantee a 4 game or so increase in wins? Hire a hall of fame coach.
Zen-like Todd
I'm with Skel.... Steven Jackson is a Gibbs back. Perhaps we can trade back for a few more picks and still get him.
Art
Joe Gibbs didn't have first round draft picks at running back. He was able to get production out of free agents and lower round picks. I seriously doubt he'll do anything as silly as go with a running back in the first. I still can't even believe we're having this discussion as it seems so improbable. If I were to guess, I'd say the first pick if Gibbs is here will be Taylor. Why? No idea .
G.Smitty
I think it's got to be Steven Jackson...
bubba9497
Jackson is on the smallish side. Gibbs has really two backs, the big pounder who didn't fumble like Riggins or Riggs, then the scat back like a Joe Washington for Screens, draws ot stuff. He used a blocking TE, and the H-Back, and a pass catching TE. Warren & Didder were the best 1-2 TE punch we ever had.

Skeletor The Invincible
bubba, you've seen Jackson right? Think Ricky Williams.
Montilar
How big do you think Ernest Byner was? Or one hit wonder Timmie smith? Ricky Ervin was the leading rusher one year with about 600 yards.... he gets the most out of whats available. heck he might like Betts.....if he stays healthy long enough. The 6ft 220 back is kevin Jones. Jackson is like 230 or something.
Skeletor The Invincible
I think we'd all like Betts if he'd stay healthy.
bubba9497
I was wrong about Jackson, I was thinking he was like 5-
REDALERT
Kellen Winslow could be a possibility. Gibbs loved kellen Winslow Sr. coming outta the Don Coryell system. Even though Joe loved big bruising blocking TE's, he never had a TE in the mode of Kellen Winslow Sr. Well, he now has a chance to snatch kellen's Sr. son. Sweet, so sweet, it could happen. GSF
Jackson is 230ish and would be a perfect fit. I think Gibbs would probably go dline though. Trade down and get them both?? If Betts could stay healthy he'd be a good fit for Gibbs.
Oldskool
If Joe comes back, he isnt going to play on the D line. D line is still the greatest need unless Joe can place the call to some FA's and get that taken care of before the draft.
Newera
Remember Gibbs was the offensive co-ordinator of the Chargers when they had Fouts, Winslow, Jefferson, Muncie, and Joiner. So, he could like Winslow2. Should be interesting.
Newera
Gibbs is a great coach, he will maiximize the offense to suit the talents of the players. He's not married to a big back. We won are lost Super Bowl with Byner. Riggs was just for short yardage. He took advantage of Rypien's ability to throw the deep ball. Max protect. Go deep.
