nelms
Not sure how bad right now. Just happened a few minutes ago. I live in Richmond and my building shook for about 7-8 seconds. Early reports are that it originated from the Hampton/Va Beach area.

nelms
Getting reports from my daughter online. She said that the news indicated that a second quake hit the Hampton area 10 minutes after the first one. Still no reports on extent of damage, if any. Buddha
The one that came through here lasted a good 15 seconds-- long enough for me to run my big fat ass out into the parking lot from my office screaming, "WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!!!!" Local news was saying 3.0 but it was much more noticeable than that.
Awesome
Now that I'm back from changing my underpants... I totally felt it. Nelms, where are you in Richmond? I'm at 8th and Main and the building definitely shook.
inmate running the asylum
I live near the San Andreas Fault and have lived through two big earthquakes so far, with injuries and property damage. Both were in the 6.7 range. We have thousands of smaller earthquakes here daily -- the ones you dont feel -- and a bunch of the 4.0 - 5.0 type. I hope no one was injured back there, but out here in Los Angeles if it aint at least 6.0 on the Richter scale, no one hardly even notices. Did you notice how many earthquakes we had in California last week, compared to the rest of the U.S. ? We're trying to cut down on Mexican immigration. :mexican:  Just kidding. I love tacos and enchiladas. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/recenteqs/

nelms
yep, looks like the epicenter was 30 miles WEST of Richmond. I guess the early reports that it originated from the east were incorrect.
