The Professor
Good evening fellow Redskins fans! First post from a lifetime fan of the greatest franchise to end all franchises. With the announcement of the new stadium I got to thinking about some cool perks that leadership could add to our overall experience. That led me to the idea that they bring back Hog Brew, for the uninitiated please see the attachments. There's no doubt that craft beer is HUGE right now and probably always will be. They could easily bring it back with some new formulas. I know I'd love to crack one open and watch them beat the tar out of the She-agles twice a year. Of course gaining traction on an idea like this might be tough and it could easily fall on deaf ears but I thought I'd throw it out there. Look forward to some feedback. Hail! Kurd Cudins
I actually have three cans in a closet some where. Are you affiliated with the brand?
The Professor
Affiliated with what brand lol? A discontinued novelty beer or the redskins franchise? My only affiliation was grabbing two warm cans of it, the year they beat the bills, and chugging them with my buddy down by the creek behind my parents house. I need a better hog brew experience . Hence the thread. Cheers! Oh and Spaceballs, big juggs and Lebowski? I like your style dude.

SoulSkin
Anyone tried this yet? http://www.escutcheonbrewing.com/john-riggins--4th-1-pilsner.html I mean, you kind of have to if you like the Redskins and beer. I'm all for the idea of some special brews just for the stadium. Hell, put a brewery in that thing. Fill the moat!

Reaper Skins
If they move the new stadium out to Ashburn, there's definitely some local breweries that would love to do a partnership with the team I bet. Sweet Water always makes good stuff. There's another one out there, Lost Rhino Brewing I think?
The Professor
Soulskin, that's a good idea. It sounds like this stadium will have more year round events and would be more of an attraction. A Redskins pub/restaurant with external access would be really cool. As Reaper stated they could partner up with other breweries as well. My personal feeling is that Oxon Hill makes the most sense. As a Central Virginia resident, the Ashburn stadium is too far away and they won't move back to RFK because they'll be forced to change the name. That leaves Oxon which will be next to the Gaylord and a casino....yes please.
RFKFedEx
They tried this with the current stadium. Big Jack beer debuted on opening day in 1997. Not sure I've ever seen it since.

Fill the moat! *Riggins Beer* I didn't get a chance to try it, but I was driving past the brewery in March and decided to stop in to try to get a can. They were still a month or so away from actually putting it in cans, though they did have it on tap. The manager was cool though, she went and got me an empty can for my Redskins collection. It got a little dinged up before I finally made it back home to Texas though. Looks like I need a new one.
