Joe Friday Lectures Libertarian Youth

These guys seem fairly well read, eloquent, ready with stats and philosophical for cops.

The best part is how the kids just sit there and take being lectured for 5 straight minutes, while just looking sheepish and defeated.  That's definitely how it works in the real world.

It's like when you read Plato's dialogues, and Socrates is debating someone and makes some argument...

and the person he is debating just responds: "Why yes Socrates, I now see that you are entirely correct.  How could I disagree?"    :P

That's funny Predicto. I was thinking the same thing.

What's a libertarian fascist?

Yeah, that's as ridiculous an oxymoron as Noam Chomsky after the discrediting of communism relabeling himself as a socialist libertarian. As soon as I saw that all I could think was "you keep using that word....I don't think it means what you think it means."

I guess my flippant joke didn't work.  I was comparing libertarian corporate-worship conservatism with traditional law and order - military worship conservatism.

Oh well they can't all be winners

The little commentary before the video used the term.

As for corporate-worship, I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I consider the concept of the Free Market to be a staple of the libertarian philosophy, which is based on the idea of letting supply and demand control the markets. It is not, contrary to popular belief, Laissez-Faire capitalism, which is an unregulated market controlled by corporations. The Free Market includes regulations to prevent pollution and breaking up monopolies to promote a supply-and-demand economy rather than allowing a business to control the market.

I also somehow doubt that the context of that video includes those kids running around supporting corporate personhood.

These two kids at Clemson need a lecture from Joe.

Clemson University apologizes for serving Mexican food

  • Clemson Dining issued an apology to 'offended' students after hosting a 'Maximum Mexican' food day.
  • Students took to Twitter to call the event culturally insensitive and to question the school's efforts to promote diversity.

Clemson Dining’s "Maximum Mexican" night, has become a student favorite over the last several years, and this year was no different, at first.

Everything was going great. Students were loving the food and festivities. Except for two students, who took to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the school's decision to host such a "#CUlturallyInsensitive" event.

Clemson senior Austin Pendergist told Campus Reform he felt the post-event uproar was “ridiculous.”

“This is something that Clemson Dining has done for years without any sort of backlash. People love the cultural nights in the dining halls,” Pendergist said. “What's next? Are they going to take away all potato based food as to not offend students from Irish decent? Remove the stir fry station so Asian-American students don't feel as if they are being misrepresented? When does it end?”
