Since when do you have a problem with rusty balls?  Dang mainlanders!!!

I like my balls pristine, and I'm at the perfect spot, on a lake 4 minutes from the beach, so bass fishing at high tide and surf at low tide :P

#Redskins DL Coach Robb Akey described Terrance Knighton today as having "sweet feet," one of many unique phrases he had after practice.

With contract talks unsettled, Russell Wilson to play with insurance policy

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/13091733/russell-wilson-seattle-seahawks-play-insurance-policy

I'd bet (if allowable) the Skins have some kind of insurance plan (we just haven't heard of it) in place with RG3. Even if it cost a million dollar to purchase this would not cost cap dollars.

However, if the proceeds go to reimburse the team, I think/believe he could have a cap hit of next to nothing if injured and can not return, thus fulfilling the injury clause in his 5th year option.

If this is possible it would explain away any concern of the injury settlement in the skins minds.

That would be a serious loophole in the salary cap if teams could get reimbursed for guaranteed contracts due to injury. No chance. Maybe a team can insure a contract and get some money back but no way the NFL would give them cap dollars back for that. Creative thinking though.

A couple quick observations.  1) I hope Barry doesn't fall into the trap the trap of gravitating to much of his time towards the linebackers.  he should spend time with them no doubt, but that is another person's unit to coach on a regular basis.

Joe Barry coaching up Trent Murphy

As obvious a comment as it seems, I just like the back to basics approach.  If we tackle, take care of our assignments, and are discipline in our approach it puts in a position to win plain and simple. If we did that in games we played last year we'd have probably have 3 more wins last year.

Zac Boyer ‏@ZacBoyer 4m4 minutes ago Ashburn, VA

Phillip Thomas said Joe Barry told the defensive players that he's never had to work on players' tackling as much as he has this year.

I am liking Barry more and more, but if we succeed on defense this year I think Fewell will deserve a large portion of the credit.

@johnnylocal It was not very good for the most part but there were other elements at play.

@Russellmania980 It's a team sport. The team was no good, so how could the QB be good?

I understand the get out of jail free card mentality of my statement and perhaps the structure language of the 5th option doesn't allow for it.....but it is allowed in some circumstances.

http://www.denverpost.com/ci_23671826/nfl-teams-players-both-often-get-insurance-potential

sometimes minor changes are made to the salary cap figures in the deal.

If the policy is invoked, the payment is considered a "refund from the player" and doesn't count against the salary cap.

However, some NFL personnel have said the cost of the insurance policy may count against the cap — as the benefits package for each player already does.

But it is indeed covered in the league's collective bargaining agreement — Article 13, Section 6, Rule IV:

"In the event that a Club receives a refund from the player of any previously paid Salary ... such amount as has previously been included in Team Salary shall be credited to the Club's Team Salary for the next League Year ... Insurance proceeds received by a Team as beneficiary to cover the player's inability to perform services required by his Player Contract shall be deemed a "refund from the player" if (a) the Club or the player purchased the policy (B) the amounts covered by the policy are so specified in the Player Contract; and © the policy is made available for inspection upon request by the NFL or the NFLPA."

Players can also purchase insurance to cover similar losses on their own.
