High character, hard working. The Patriots team is built on guys like that.

I read an article that said Shanahan spent some time with Belichick and the pats camp. Im thinking that's how Shanahan wants to build our team.

I just want a team full of competitors who bust their butts every single down.

I will be watching Alderick Robinson to see if he even makes the team. We missed big on that pick, they could've had Tyrod Taylor there, but instead they got another small WR, who is going to be fighting to make the PS due to the crowded competition at WR. We could've had Tyrod, who is a proven winner, and a damn good athletic QB. Tyrod is a leader and a character guy. Too bad, we could've had a young QB in the wings learning and waiting to win games for us. I will be watching both players careers and comparing to see how bad we missed on that one pick. I am happy with the rest of the draft.

You are severely underestimating Robinson. He was groomed by June Jones in college. As was Emmanuel Sanders who came out a year ago and had a productive year with the Steelers last season. Size is not going to matter; Sanders is small too.

I'm still puzzled why they selected Niles Paul AND Alderick Robinson -- a glut behind Armstrong, Hankerson, and Moss (and/or whoever the Skins sign once they get the chance.) There's also other WRs/ST'ers left over from last season.

There's at least one different late-round decision that I think we should not have made every year: something that doesn't effect the team THAT much, but that gives me other players to watch, to see if I was right.

Last year, I thought we should have taken Bruce Campbell in the 4th, rather than Perry Riley. Because with our OL as weak is it is (and was last year), I just don't think you can pass up that kind of potential that late.

This year, my small gripes are Helu over Kendall Hunter, and Gomes over Tyrod Taylor (I know he wasn't taken for another round or two, but Gomes is the only late-round pick I don't like, and would take Taylor over). With our QB issues, I just don't think we can afford to pass up that kind of potential that late, even if nothing ever becomes of it.

But this year and last year also share other things in common: I was praying for the Capers pick in the 7th last year, and the Nield pick this year in the 7th: so that worked out for me :D

Just my opinions. Love our draft overall.

I think Robinson was deemed too good of a 'value' pick to pass on. Bruce Allen has said that we got guys in the latter rounds who we'd expected gone ~2 rounds prior.

I also get the impression that we loves guys who nail the combine. - See 2nd quote.

"Robinson is an undersized receiver that could develop into a quality slot receiver at the next level. He fights off the press effectively for a smaller wide receiver and has the suddenness to gain separation in both man and zone coverage. He is a smooth athlete with tremendous focus that always catches the ball in stride, but he is not overly elusive in the open field. He does not have speed to get behind coverage, but he is fearless going across the middle. Robinson has great quickness and hands and may be a steal in the later rounds. – NFL.com
“Robinson (5-10, 178) is a short receiver who hasn't received much hype. But after a superb Combine, Robinson's stock is rising. He's a quick, explosive receiver with the speed to go the distance. He has the run instincts and elusiveness to make tacklers miss and create big plays out of nothing. For a player viewed as a "system wide receiver," his athleticism helped him overcome that label in many teams' eyes, putting Robinson in position to be a third-round pick. He won't vault into the first-round because of his height but in today's pass-friendly NFL, Robinson isn't going to slide far. Receivers who can catch the ball with legit big-play ability consistently get drafted earlier than expected.” – Russ Lande, Sporting News

It funny that a couple of people mention Neild being drafted late as some sort of knock against him. You don't see many starting nose tackles in the nfl who were mid round picks. Either you get your starter early or late. I like the fact that he actually played nose tackle in a 3 man front unlike most of the other guys in the draft.

Why are you puzzled? Our WRs suck. We have Moss who is a FA and while he wants to come back and we want him back, there is never a 100% guarantee that he will. Armstrong surpassed all expectations but he is still 30 in his 2nd year. Kelly is a walking bandaid. Austin is a total unknown. Banks is basically a return specialist and bring very little to the WR game and never the less Shanahan cant be too happy about his late night actions leading to him being stabbed.

Hankerson was a first round talent taken in the 3rd.

Paul is a talented WR who lived in a very run heavy, lousy QB offense who went mid round due to non flashy numbers and is a DAMN good down field blocker

Robinson is a home run hitting WR with return ability and can add a lot to the WR game

Dont be surprised to see Banks off the final 53 is Robinson can show he is as good as or nearly as good at KR/PR as Banks. No need to keep a roster spot for a WR who adds very little else. Cribbs and Hester both are a main part in their teams offense as well. I have a REALLY good feeling about this WR group we drafted. Dont be surprised if Paul is just as good as or better then Hankerson.

Im going to make a bold prediction now that Banks will not make the final 53. BOTH Paul and Robinson are above average returners. My prediction for the WRs on the final 53 are Moss (will resign), Armstrong, Hankerson, Paul, Robinson and Kelly (yes he will finally be healed).
