It's a concern. But it's the same one every team not named Golden State deals with. What's good to see is that John and Brad have been absolutely locked in the past few weeks. They're having legit All Star caliber seasons. And they've developed good on court chemistry that was lacking in previous seasons. Their fantastic individual play has kind of steadied the boat after a terrible start. Now the role players are settling in and starting to play their game. There was a point during the opening stretch of the season where Oubre, Burke, and Smith were sitting on PERs of like 6, 2, and -7 respectively. They were getting destroyed and killing us. Kelly got locked in and went from falling out of the rotation entirely to being an essential 30 MPG sixth man type contributor. Burke also went from being out of the rotation to finding his niche. And Jason Smith was actually playing pretty well before the hamstring injury, and God, he was horrible to start the season. Played the worst basketball of his career. The further into the season we get, the more reliable the bench play should be. Nicholson/Burke/Smith should revert to their career norms and Mahinmi will be back eventually. Home and away games against Indy and Milwaukee with a road trip to Chicago mixed in there. If we win all five that'd put us right in the mix. As many have noted, the East is still wide open and the three or four seed is not yet out of our reach. We can completely change the outlook on our season by killing this stretch. This loss was a real missed opportunity to get into the playoff chase. Couldn't hit an open set shot three to save our lives and it cost us the game. The basketball gods do not favor us. At this point I think it could make sense to trade the draft pick for Nerlens Noel and ride with him and Gortat at C until Mahinmi finally gets back and you can trade either him or Gortat.
