WSHRedskins3ATLBraves3
Griffin was a great player here in his prime, although I like this move too. It's time.
AngloSackSon
Not unexpected. Shaving tons of salary for 12:01 am 4/5/10. Thanks for the memories Griff..
CallMeGreen
Peppers I don't see coming here. Sorry to see Griffin go in a way. He was a beast when healthy.

I don't know that cutting Griffin means we'll get Peppers necessarily, but it does look like we must be honed in on somebody.

Laxpunk2006
I liked Griff especially as a #2 but not only is he aging but he doesn't seem to have a clear position in the 3-4. Hopefully the uncapped year will work to Griff's advantage and get him a decent contract to finish out his career.

Well, Adam Schefter, who is usually reliable, didn't seem to think that there would be anyone signed within a few hours like what happened with Haynesworth. Not sure that means anything. If they are locked in on another DL in FA, cutting a current DL hours before the FA period begins seems to go against the idea of not giving away their strategy. Cutting Griffin is probably still going to be a $2 mil cap hit, even by releasing him now. Was he maybe due a roster bonus if still on the team March 5th? I don't know Chicago has no 1st or 2nd round pick and rotoworld has reports that Chicago will not let anybody outbid them.

This would be the time if there ever was the time.

Unless peppers doesnt want to go to chicago. remember haynesworth was offered more money by the bucs than we were offering and he chose us... i also seem to remember peppers saying he wanted to play in a 3-4, and chicago runs a 4-

Grimm
I hope we keep Golston. He was tendered so that should mean he will be back, I would way rather gave Golston if you factor in age and injury history.
CapitalDefense
A horse in the middle, but this had to be done, age was the deciding factor. Thanks Griff!!!
Uno Mas
Big Griff was the type of guy I hope the new regime looks for when trying to land free agents. Good talent for a reasonable price. 22 Griffs = Championship. Thanks for your hard work big guy, and good luck in your future endeavors!
