YOu would immediatly post a new thread during ur layover, Its been a week since you rolled out and my way of checking to see how you're doing is to sign in on ES, good luck out there my dude P.s. can you send me some of those links to watch the game out here HOLLA!

haha what up homie. I've been alright. Honesty, just been partying since I got here. What else would you expect. I think that I will start the job hunt on Tuesday.

I was watching the game on http://p2p4u.net/watch-live-sports.php?id=6248&link=1 but I think the NFL took it down.

You can go to the staduim and check out the thread called annual watch the games online. You might find something. I can't believe I got up at 5am to listen to Sam Huff talk about how much the skins are the suck

I suppose I might use this thread to be an attention whore. Being alone in a foreign country is something completely new to me and other than facebook, ES is my only connection to back home. Right now I am staying in a backpackers hostel, I got lucky and made a couple friends right away, a guy and girl from Denmark and we booked a room together for the next three nights. Then I am heading up to Collaroy Beach to stay at a place right on the beach (hope the weather gets better because it has be cold and rainy since I got here) with a free surfboard and one free nights stay. Never surfed before but I can snowboard pretty well as well as waterski and wakeboard. I figure that it must use some of the same skills. So i'll just give it a go and try to pick it up.

On the 14th I move into a house on Harris st. For those of you familiar with Sydney that is a few blocks from Darling Harbor. Spectacular view. I will take many pics and post them (just for you PCS)

Been going to the Casino and playing poker and martingale betting the min on roulette. Walked out a winner a couple days and walked out a loser a couple days. I was hoping to play poker and not have to get a job since I think I am good enough, but at the casino here the rake is incredibly high, 10% rake is unheard of in the states. On top of that, every hour the deal takes a time charge where you have to pay him $5 at the 1/2 NL tables. When you walk into the casino you should already have your belt loosend up and be prepared to drop your pants and bend over. Basically, to beat out the variance and rake I would have to run pretty hot so it appears that I had best start looking for work. I'll just stick to the weekly tournaments.

Aside from the weather, this city is pretty cool. I've just been partying my ass off the past week. Drank Absinthe for the first time....wow. No hallucinations or anything (I think its really hyped up for some reason) but it definitly floored me...so much so, that bouncers were telling me that I wasn't allowed in the bar. Oh well, they were probably right.

OK so long for now.

Hey Aussie, I hear there are some ski resorts near Victoria. I was thinkin maybe I would end my trip down there working at a ski resort.

How are the mountains? A guy from Canada I met last night said that he worked at a ski resort down there.

There are a few ski resorts down this way, but when do you plan on looking for work at a resort? You won't find much snow now until about May.

I have a mate who regularly works at Aspen as a ski instructor, but also has a standing gig at a resort here. He is due home soon, so I'll see if he can help in any way.

What sort of work would you be looking at?

If you can snow board, you should be able to surf, but how many sharks do you see in the snow?

Not enough

Anything really, I am good enough to teach skiing or snowboarding. I would also not mind restaurant work, lift attendent, hotel worker, whatever... I would probably be looking at making my way down there around late may. Although, that is also the best time to head to Cairns.

Is Marcos Ambrose a star over there? I think he's actually from Tasmania. But the way he talks, that can't be far from Australia. That dude has some talent. And his voice cracks me up.

Marcos is a legend down here. He has won the Australian V8 Touring Car Championship a number of times, and was at the top of his game when he first headed to the States.

The cars he drove here are the ones racing this weekend at Bathurst, so check your local TV guide and see if ESPN is showing any of it. It starts at 10am on Sunday, so subtract 16 hours to bring it in line with US (East Coast) time.

He is originally from Tasmania, which is the little island at the very bottom. Slightly above Antarctica! Much like how Hawaii isn't on the US mainland, but is still a US state.

Thanks for the heads up, Aussie. I figured the guy had to be a star there. Hell, he has a bright future here the way he's going. Very likeable guy. I can't believe how quickly he has adapted to cars in Nascar. I knew he would do well on the road courses. But he's done extremely well on several of the ovals. I want to say he got a top 10 at Bristol, in his first ever Cup start there. Trust me, that aint an easy thing to do.

Anyway, didn't mean to hijack the thread. Just saw you mentioned something about racing, so I figured you had some info on Ambrose.

Moved into a house on Harris st...a few blocks from Darling Harbor. Hey Ren, im going Jetboating in the Sydney Harbor next friday. I remember you saying that you went jetboating.

I'm living with 4 girls from Germany, 2 girls from Canada, and a guy from LA. So far so good, although im gonna need to get a job real soon. This city is more expensive than NY...even with the exchange rate. Alcohol is about $50 for a fifth, so everyone drinks cheap wine. Oh and a six pack of beer...$20

90 US cents is $1 Aus.

Sydney is the most expensive city in Australia to live in, so don't expect anything to be cheap.

The booze is so expensive because of the taxes. The Guvmint is trying to put a halt to underage binge drinking, so their solution is to increase taxes on anything alcoholic. However, $20 for a 6-pack sounds excessive. I know you can buy a slab (24 cans/stubbies) here in Victoria for about $50. Bummer about the exchange rate though!

If you can afford, check out some pubs that has live bands. Some pubs may even have cheap drink nights. Usually Tues / Weds, but you'll also get a lot of backpackers there as well.

If you want to see some speedway, try and get to Parramatta City Raceway on a Saturday night. Not sure of entry prices now there are new owners in place, but it is generally a great night out. The 410 Sprintcars feature tomorrow night.

Like he would know....

The women down here are a lot like Americans, but much better looking than in San Fran:D. In Sydney, it is very diverse. Lots of good looking women and others, well...

I am living with three girls from Germany, one girl from Italy (who is a stripper, but personally, I would pay here to keep her clothes on), a girl from NY, and I room with a guy from LA. We all get along pretty well and hangout often. All in all, the women here are pretty good looking (especially at the beaches)
