Genghis Khan
Why is everyone so interested in Ray Willis he started what 10 games of his 4 year career. I think we should go after Khalif Barnes who is only 26 and excels at run blocking.
kreitmaster
We cut Taylor to swoop in and bet Houshmandzadeh. Haha, but really, I think we'll sign Cato June.

jnhay
Are there any free agent DEs out there? It seems like we need to address OL and DE in the draft now. I doubt we keep our first pick now unless a really good guy drops. I think Cato June might be a good idea, even though I was hoping for Maualuga before Taylor was cut. Is Willis supposed to be better than Heyer?
asknoquarter
We now have about 11 million Let's get Crowell Olshansky Barnes or Willis Might as well being Evans back too Hunter smith too Let's not go crazy, let's fill our holes so we can draft BPA in the draft. If we don't get a OLB LDE and RT now we fail epicly

Skins4SB
Angelo Crowell and Sam Palescu, the punter the Cowboys picked up last year to replace McBriar. He'd probably come really cheap.
eljeasel
If they had done this a little more promptly, they could have had Canty (if that was the plan).
SkinsMaster88
I'd like to see Crowell and Hunter Smith. Look at other DE guys still available, but most are going to end up being 3-4 converts. Might go with Evans depending on his price, but I think the Redskins don't value him as much as others will. Willis doesn't interest me that much. Yeah he's from Seattle, but he has even less starts than Heyer. I guess Khalif Barnes is the best tackle left, but heard he struggled and was inconsistent last season. JoeKnowsBest
Good suggestion :point2sky I like it too. I also like the Cato June suggestion. Cato June and Derrick Brooks I like, but Cato June would probably come at a much more reasonable salary and get the same level of play. Derrick Brooks was great, and will be a hall of famer, but he's at the end of his career at this point so people should remember to not get carried away with the prestige of his name. Cato June would probably provide the same level of play at a better price. Of coarse, they could always go and get Ray Lewis to switch to OLB. I really hope there is a way we can trade for Julius Peppers. But I doubt there is any way to do it without mortgaging the whole farm by selling Fed Ex Field along with Danny's Aunt Jeneena and a box of Darell Green gold plated Snickers. asknoquarter
I really hope that we can fill our needs before the draft. I also want us to be able to sign good young help so we don't keep getting old guys who are past their prime. DE, OLB, and RT are our biggest needs right now. Here are some possible FAs at each of those positions with my thoughts on bringing them in. DE: Igor Olshansky http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=5560 Aside from Julius Peppers this is the best DE available now. He may be better suited for a 3-4 scheme, but with his size and strength I think he is better than Chris Canty would be in the same role. I really think this guy would help us against the run and we could find ways for him to occupy blockers on blitzing downs. Bertrand Berry http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=1244 He is 33 now, not exactly my idea of getting younger and not a great fit for our scheme. I would have to pass. Demetric Evans http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=2810 I really wish we would have signed him before he could see what other teams would offer because he is a good serviceable veteran. Not a stud, but he would fill the need. All he wanted was to start anyway. Chauncey Davis http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=8542 I don't know a lot about this guy other than on NFL.com he was compared to Antonio Smith. His stats don't jump out at you(you would know more about him if they did), but he could be a serviceable LDE with big Al beside him. Michael Montgomery http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=8594 Again, a guy I don't know a ton about, but from his stats and size I think he could be a solid LDE. Looks like more of a run stopper, but with Wilson and Jackson I think that is more of what we need at LDE. as you can see DE's are not very deep and we should probably act quickly and get Olshansky in my opinion. LB: Angelo Crowell http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4552 This guy can be a very good LB. He hasn't gotten much attention because he was hurt last season. It was a knee injury an he opted to have surgey dispite what the Bills wanted him to do. He was put on the IR and didn't play last season. Freddy Keiaho http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=9680 I like this guy, BUT, he is way too small to play SAM and he isn't fit for our scheme. He is a Tampa 2 OLB and would not work well in our system. Of course, our FO could think differently. Cato June http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4656 A few seasons ago he was a very go LB. That was with the Colts. The same team Keiaho was a good LB for. He is also small and doesn't make for a very good SAM. Not much hope there either. Derrick Brooks http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=757 If only it were 10 years ago, Brooks is a good OLB now. With his age I doubt he gets any interest, and he certainly wouldn't be an every down player. If all else fails Brooks could make his way to Washington to retire. I am starting to look at our options and get a bit depressed. Not a lot as far as OLB goes. Crowell is certainly our best option. RT: Khalif Barnes http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=8466 Came into the league as a starter. Had some problems last season and for whatever reason was not offered a contract from the Jags. He is young and his strength is Run Blocking. Sounds like a pretty good option to me. George Foster http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4478 If I remember correctly he was a 1st round pick for the Broncos several years back. He never lived up to that 1st round status. Ray Willis http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=8519 This guy started 10 games for the hawks last season and did pretty well only allowing 1.5 sacks in those starts. He is young and has good size. Kwame Harris http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4484 Lost his starting position and never got it back, hence the cut. No better than our current options IMO As you can see we aren't a lot better off for the options at RT. There is a reason you keep seeing the same names poping up in the threads. It is because we have holes and these are the best players to fill those holes. Hopefully now with some money we can get these top guys signed to have some good players come in and hold down some positions so we can look forward to the draft. Renegade7
:helmet:I saw on KFFL that the bucs were the last team to show interest in Angelo sunday. If we don't start filling our holes now with UFAs, we could be staring in the face another 8-8, 9-7 season. With or without Haynesworth, this is starting to look like a two year project, even with trading down. We really need Snyder to pull a Synder and prove me wrong. Ya hear me Danny?! YOU STILL GOT WORK TO DO!!! hail

Redskins Reparations
If the price is right then Olshansky could provide great depth. Carter and Daniels on the ends with Igor and a young Rob Jackson would be adequate ends. A combonation of speed and strength. I would love to open-hand slap Jason Taylor right now. I can't believe he feels like he deserves last years salary!

SkinsWizCubsDukes
Olshansky and Crowell should be Redskins in the next few days with the money we saved on JT. Hopefully we will just draft a RT with #13 if we can land those two players.
Renegade7
Willis, Olshansky, and Crowell should be our targets. At least then I'd be more comfortable with trading down because we can always use our first rounder next year on Sameuls' heir. The Jason Taylor release finally made clear to me just how razor thin this team really is. We still haven't even talked about special teams.
