FORBIDDEN
Before he ended up in Denver the Skins were in the hunt for Dre Bly, now that he is released from Denver, do we go after him, your thoughts pls. I know we always are in the hunt for a name, but he is also somewhat of a decent player.

Blackest Eyes
vet minimum+incentives and get rid of Smoot or Springs and keep Hall & Rogers.
SMOSS89
Cut Springs, sign Bly. Restructure Springs. Keep Hall and Los. Unlikely, obviously, but that'd be the best move. To increase DEPTH.
IbleedBnG83
I knew this thread will come up. The Broncos have been weak on defense. If they let him go, things must be bad. I would only sign him for very cheap.

Hitman#21
If things get really thin as CB i have no problem going after Dre.
bushwack
I would love to see a fellow Western Branch guy on the Skins; and I think he might be willing to take give the Skins a hometown discount. If we were able to sign him and Bodden to smaller contracts, I would love to do so, that way we could easily release Springs. Also this would allow the Skins to trade Rogers for a 1st or 2nd round pick and still have depth at the CB position.
Blackest Eyes
Please no mention of trading rogers in this thread. I seriously see zero logic in trading him. Rogers+Hall = solid starting CB group. The issue is depth. Smoot is not worth the money we signed him for and Springs needs to take a paycut to stay. He is not reliable. And Tryon...well...uh... chrisxcore
Now this could make some sense, if handled properly. If, IF the front office is set on trading Rogers, signing Bly could be a move that'd make a lot of sense. Priority #1 - re-sign Hall. Then sign Bly to a reasonable contract, restructure Springs, keep Smoot for one more year since IMO he's very solid depth, continue developing Tryon (since someone must see something in him) Sounds good to me. Yup, too good to be true. No way it happens here.

Redskins:Victory_or_Death
The only CB I'm looking forward to is D. Hall. Let's focus on what we have rather than the grass on the otherside...
twenty-eight
BRONCOS LOST CAP SPACE TO CUT BLY Posted by Mike Florio on February 17, 2009, 10:49 p.m. Though the decision to release cornerback Dre’ Bly allows the Broncos to avoid $3.25 million in 2009 base salary, Bill Williamson of ESPN.com reports that the move actually resulted in a negative cap hit for the team. Per Williamson, the release of Bly triggers $9 million in dead money. When subtracting the money (salary and bonuses) that Bly won’t receive this year, the net cap savings is a negative $2.6 million. Regardless, the Broncos have more than $25 million in 2009 cap space.

I rarely watch the Bronco's, I've talked to two Lions fans who say Bly was overrated with one good year when he was on their team. Thought a cheap contract would be nice with him as depth...but maybe not.

Thought a cheap contract would be nice with him as depth...but maybe not. However, you are also talking about 2 of the worst defenses in the league in the Lions and Broncos. I would not overpay for Bly; however, if we can get him for a small contract, I'm all for it. I would much rather have Bly as our nickel corner over Smoot. Let Smoot be the #4 CB, that way Tryon never sees the field this upcoming season.
ABSTRACT
I'd personally rather pick up Leigh Bodden for CHEAP and release Springs. 1. D. Hall 2. C. Rogers 3. L. Bodden 4. J. Tryon
ABSTRACT
Dre Bly IS over rated in my opnion. He is just a name. We really need actual young talent that can be developed and molded.

beedyb220
Are you guys nuts?? I live in Colorado and Dre's name is Toast. With or without Champ on the other side, teams picked on and exposed Bly. I saw no go on that deal.
DaRock
No. Hall, Rogers, Smoot, and a draft pick, there are some good corners that might go late.
