boobiemiles
Screw that "take the high groud nonesense". In my opinion the GOP has set the bar. They go as far to talk about Obama's college years. I mean college?! To me it's absolutely ridiculous. But it got me thinking. Why isn't Obama attacking McCain more. Grace under pressure is fine, but it's not worth a damn if you lose. I can see it now, all those CNN expert analysis will say Obama should have taken the steel fist out of the silk glove. With that said I am trying to understand why Obama isn't attacking McCain on the Keating Affair? I haven't seen anything on it yet. I feel it would be a great forum that Obama could tie Palin's abuse of power to more firmly. And why isn't Obama talking about having a 70+ year old president, with the absent minded govenor waiting in the wings. I just don't get it. I feel if Obama attacked McCain on these issues more prominently this election would be a landslide already.

TheLongshot
Because taking the high road has worked quite well for Obama. Personally, I'm happy for it, because I'm sick of all the finger pointing. Tell me what you are for, not what problems the other guy has. alexey
Give me a break with the scoreboard point. He was doing this all along. This is how he chose to do politics. This is why he will win.
JMS
I too get very frusterated with Obama for not hitting back. I mean the whole elitist, terrorist, socialist, communist and now black insurgent thing is getting farsical. But then I pretty much go through life being angry and nobody's voted me for high office so what do I know? Exactly. No need to talk smack when you can point to the scoreboard. Obama's a classy guy and is taking the high road and as infuriating as that is for those of us who want a little more realism and accountability in this election I think their is a real strategy in his posturing. Obama's the first serious black candidate who has a chance for the office. He had to know how the GOP was going to come at him. Overt Racism and FUD. To the credit of the GOP's sophistication the racism has been more covert than overt, but the Fear Uncertainty and Doubt have been basically the GOP's only resonating message.. Obama's calm cool professional persona has been pretty effective against the FUD onslaught. It's been that, and basically the faultering credibility of the GOP which has blunted the historically effective GOP FUD offensive. I have to agree with Alexey. I don't believe the cool professional persona is an act put on as a tactic. I just think it's been especially effective at combating what was always going to be avenues of attack against percieved weaknesses by the GOP on a black junior senator without an extensive resume of high national office.. boobiemiles
I agree that Obama has played a good hand so far. But the election is on Tuesday and I'm scared to death. I am not lying when I say I am jaded from the last election. John Kerry tired to play the high road and it was high noon on election day. I just feel if that if Obama put more information aboutt he Keating Affair it would be a slam dunk.

Kerry never had a lead this close to the election . . . much less an average of 6 point lead in the polls. I'm nervous too but at this point things are looking good for Obama, particularly from the state level.
