Do you believe the government will get smaller under Obama?

There is a lot more to this question than bigger vs smaller. Focusing on size and not function leads to making stupid cuts such as killing the Office of Technology Assessment.

There is a good chance that it will get smarter. Doing things smarter costs less money.

I'm excited because the Republicans and Neo-Cons will get trounced. Obama is an afterthought to me.

well I'm excited for two reasons:

One, I think Obama is an intelligent man with a strong moral back bone (for a politician anyway), this is what I want out of my leader. (something we have been missing for longer than I remember)

Two, A landslide victory for the liberals may get the Republicans to reflect and change their strategy. They were an overly nationalistic and frighteningly populist path. This wing of the party has to be reigned in, they make good followers, but once they start dictating policy everybody loses.

this country needs a two viable parties. The Republicans may actually do better and learn from their mistakes... hopefully their lesson won't be get slimier.

Last time we talked about this, it came down to you saying "because I like him better" and then I was called out in another thread for not answering you.

Last time we talked about this you ran away crying like a little girl. Got a link for that quote?

That is one standard, true, but all governments do not do this.

I am not aware of any government that does not collect taxes, provide services, or have any employees.

edit: talking about civilized countries here, not things like tribes in Africa.

I could not disagree with your first point any more, but the second one is dead on.

Oh what the hell, HECK YEAH!! Bring it on! Anything is better than what we have now!

From the gal who said she was voting Obama because it was "good for the black people".

For years in this country we've had socialism for corporations and capitalism for the citizens.

Now were talking about extending some of the socialism to the citizens. :)

Ah, "we"?:D

Insults eh? Nice.

You posted two links yesterday. The second didn't work.

The first one I answered in THAT thread and then left for a wedding I was in.

YOU go find the links. I answered your questions. You are going on gut and opinion.
