Last meeting

Lee Suggs rushed for a 3-yard touchdown to seal the Browns' 17-13 victory over the Redskins in Week 4 of the 2004 season.

Streaks

The Browns have won two of the past three meetings and own a commanding 33-9-1 overall series edge. Check out the historical matchup of the last five games.

Last week

Cleveland snapped New York's 11-game road winning streak, 35-14, Monday night. ... The Redskins had their first three offensive turnovers of the season and the miscues came back to haunt them in a big way as they lost to the previously winless Rams, 19-17.

Keep your eye on ...

Which Anderson will show up: Browns QB Derek Anderson was stellar through the first half of last season, but sputtered down the stretch. This year, he was ineffective through the first four games, but was spectacular against the Giants. If the good Anderson shows up, Cleveland's offense poses a major challenge for Washington's eighth-ranked defense.

Springs vs. Edwards Part I: Redskins CB Shawn Springs is one of the league's better cover corners when it comes to taking on bigger receivers. Already this season he has hounded Anquan Boldin and Terrell Owens into subpar outings. Talented Browns wideout Braylon Edwards is coming off a game in which he had a career-high 154 receiving yards and he will provide another stiff test for Springs as these two former Pro Bowl players meet for the first time.

Dr. Do Itch Big: Ever since coming on the NFL Network in the offseason and turning himself into 'Dr. Do Itch Big,' Clinton Portis has been rejuvenated. He leads the NFL in rushing with 643 yards and has had three straight 100-yard games.

Did you know?

When the Browns score at least 30 points, they are a perfect 6-0 under coach Romeo Crennel. ... When Jamal Lewis carries the ball 25 times or more the Browns are 5-0. ... Washington's Jason Campbell is the only starting quarterback in the league without an interception. ... This is the Redskins' first meeting of the year against an AFC team.

I did not know the overall series lead was so one-sided.

I think the Redskisn defense is complete enough to handle the Browns offense. The Giants never had a decent secondary and thrived off their defensive line. The Browns offensive line kept them at bay which allowed them to exploit the Giants secondary.

The Redskins offensively match well with the Browns. We can run the ball very well and have plenty of weapons on offense.

Redskins 28 Browns 17

:doh:Unfortunetely it has been one sided but also note a lot of the domination comes from the fact when they played the Skins those were not good teams a lot of times. They have really never played the Skins when they were a good team. We saw what happen in 91 :D.

Not saying this 91 but the Browns are not as good as they look against the Giants. I stayed in Cleveland for a couple of years so I know how this team teases before breaking the hearts of their fans.

I feel like we'll win this game, as long as we come in with the right mind states. Last week, it looked like we didn't really start playing with heart, until the 4th quarter, but apparently that was way too late.

Hopefully that lost serves as a wake up call for them.

Wow....the browns really own us that bad?.... :(

My guess is that the lion's share of those wins were in the late '50s through the '60s when there were just East and West divisions. The Browns were in our division and we would play much more regularly, when they had many good teams and we had many bad teams.

I did not know that the Browns shared a division with the Redskins at any point. This would make sense, since they were the team of the 50's even after they joined the NFL. But the days of automatic Otto and Jim Brown are long gone. We'll see what happens on Sunday.

Exactly just like we hold a commanding lead over the Steelers a lot of those games were played when the Steelers were bad . I think I can count a handful of times when the Steelers and Skins played when both teams were good.

Damn!!! 33-9-1??? Well, time to get that second column into double digit territory! GO SKINS!!

 It's all about trends they usually break and they will break this sunday. Just like Cowboy fans use to throw in our faces 14 straight or how many times they have beaten us.

You've left out the games played in Cleveland. They usually played twice a year and the road results were equally "impressive".
