Stophovr6
Hmmm. Maybe he decided it wasn't worth it if he couldn't sack Brady this season.
C26 Run
This is going to sound strange but this is great news for Merriman. His career is safe. He didn't have any further damage to his knee. This will work out for the best for Merriman, he'll land elsewhere and do the "Lights Out" soon enough. :helmet:

skins4eva
Hmmm. Maybe he decided it wasn't worth it if he couldn't sack Brady this season. I think he realized that Norv Turner is the coach and that therefore they have no shot.

tr1
He may never get that burst back when getting off the LOS. :rotflmao: Puke fans still smarting from picking the wrong guy...and hoping beyond hope that folks will forget that should Merriman's career falter. Classic! :rotflmao:
tr1
BTW, Merriman should have had surgery soon after last season...tried to rehab, though he was told surgery would be needed....and look what happened. He could have been playing at some point this season...now, not!
Genghis Khan
He may never get that burst back when getting off the LOS. I don't know hes young and with what surgeons can do these days he should be able to come back strong. Greg Ellis made a big comeback last year at his age so there is no reason to think Merriman couldn't.

Classic! :rotflmao: Merriman may lead the league in sacks, but people who actually know about football agree that Ware is the more complete linebacker and a better player. Ware is also not a confirmed cheater like Merriman.
TheDoyler23
He needs to do what's best for his career. Besides, maybe he'll come back next year to a head coach that isn't Norval.

ArmchairRedskin
I figured it was just a matter of time. Thankfully he didn't go out because he did further damage to it. A short term goal isn't worth long term damage.
abdcskins
Glad he came to his senses. Hoepfully he'll recuperate fully and be back strong next year. Big blow to the Chargers defense.

J_Taylor_Fan
I'd take Ware over Merriman any day. He doesn't have a bum knee, nor has he been busted for steroids. Of course, I'd take either of them over Carlos Rogers. If we had done that in '05, we might be a much better team right now.

CowboysSaintsFan
Why do Norv Turner teams get piles of injuries? I know they're part of the game, but just about every year he coaches, they're always bit.
