Cambl2Moss
Lets be real here for a minute. The super bowl rep for the NFC is coming out of the NFC east. Lets look at this from a realistic angle. Lets break down the positions. Here is my rankings.QB Campbell- best arm in the division Romo sits to pee-would be nothing without TO Eli-would be nothing without Plax McNabb- he is too old to play Offensive line Skins Giants Cowboys Eagles Wide Receivers Cowboys- TO factor Skins- Moss , EL , Thomas and Kelly are NASTY Giants- Plax and then who? Eagles- pathetic RB Skins- Portis, Betts enough said Giants- Cowboys Eagles- Westbrook is ok but overrated D-line Skins- Taylor and Carter enough said Giants- not as good now Cowboys-Ware is a player Eagles- who do they have on their line that is good? LBRs Skins- Fletcher, Washington McCintosh enough said Cowboys Giants Eagles- who are those guys again? exactly Secondary Skins- Landry, Springs, Smoot, Rogers exactly Cowboys- loaded Giants- pretty good Eagles When I break it down I see a super bowl caliber team. Based on last years stats Portis and Betts are one of the worst combos in the league. Average yards per carrie: NYG- Bradshaw 8.3, Jacobs 5.0, Ward 4.8 Philly- Westbrook 4.8 Dallas- Barber 4.8 Washington- Portis 3.9, Betts 3.
HLF
Ok, so our starters vs. the Panthers starters for 2 quarters of play mean nothing? hello.......they out scored us 34-0 at the ****ing half.If you even say that we quit playing defense after Taylor got hurt (and it looked like we did) then I am going to scream. Our offense is flat and don't even toss in the "Vanilla reference" if you do I'm officially pulling your man card. So whats to say about our first 3 games then? They look nice so we will be a playoff team? Realistically u cant tell nothin in preseason thats why half of it will be gone come next season. I guess I'll just be perfectly honest with you. I hate Brandon Jacobs. Not just because he's a Giant, I like players in the NFCE. I love M Barber, Westbrook, and Ahmad Bradshaw(really like him) and Ward too. There's just something about Jacobs I can't stand. I just feel like he's capable of doing so much more than what he exerts on the field.

jbowman
Sorry, but Westbrook is one of the best players lining up in the backfield for any team. He's a threat whenever he gets the ball. Especially against the Skins. He's far from overrated.:eaglesuck

First of all, I haven't read the whole thread so sorry if that causes any problems lol but it's kinda a lot to catch up on. So yea I'm just gonna put my own breakdown thing and responses to his: QB(I understand why you say this and I halfway agree, but while JC might be the best, he is the least proven so I can't put him first) A Healthy McNabb - Leaps and bounds ahead of Tony "I'm behind a full Pro Bowl O line" Romo sits to pee and Eli. Never stays healthy though. Eli - He's got a ring and was definitely a big part of getting it. Romo sits to pee - I think he pretty much sucks and that he does so well because his O line gives his receivers all day to get open, but JC hasn't proven he should be ahead of any of these guys. JC Offensive line(Are you serious? What is wrong with you?) Cowboys Giants Eagles Skins Wide Receivers(Huh? TO drops more balls than Robert Royal and he's all they've got) Skins - Two good, proven starters and a couple young guys with potential that are the type of receiver we need. Giants - Plax is the best receiver in the division and, unlike TO, he actually has some teammates. Eagles - Reggie Brown might not be the best in the division, but at least they have more than one target. Cowboys RB Skins Eagles Giants Cowboys D-line Skins Giants Cowboys-(Ware is a linebacker) Eagles LBRs Skins Cowboys Giants Eagles Secondary Cowboys Skins Eagles Giants How can you seriously say the Redskins are the best in the strongest division in football at every position? Well I went with average yards per carrie because all the running appeared in a different amount of games. Portis and Barber are the only backs to see action in all 16 games. Also, regardless of Portis being better than all three backs COMBINED, the Giants still had the best running attack in the division and the 4th best in the league. Are you smoking crack? QB Until proven otherwise, Jason is at the bottom. Romo sits to pee makes decisions, he doesnt just wait for hi first read to maybe get open before pump faking 3 times and throwing a ****ty pass. Eli won a superbowl. I don't care if the DL of the giant won that game, eli has the ring. McNabb isn't too old, he just chokes. And he's made it to the superbowl. OL YOu give no ecvidence whatsoever. Our line is OLD. Period. RB Westbrook is overrated? By who? He is really good. You don't even mention the other two teams. DL Until proven otherwise, Giants are the best even without Osi. Dware is crazy. We might be second or third in this category. LB We are thin. ahhhhhhhhhh Why am i doing this? Is this a joke thread? I;m drunk i'm not reading through all the posts to find out this is a sarcastic post. Good night.
“Misdirection”
Let's clean that up a bit, shall we?QB McNabb- finally back 100% healthy, which puts him back as the best QB in the NFC East Romo sits to pee-would still be good even without TO. Eli-would be considerably less dangerous without Plaxico, but still would be a good QB Campbell- has one of the worst w-l records in entire NFL among starting QBs. Has shown absolutely no consistency or ability in clutch situations. Still gets a free pass from Redskins fans because he's a 1st round pick. Offensive line Giants Skins Cowboys Eagles Wide Receivers Cowboys- TO factor Giants- Plax and then young talent. Skins- Moss , EL , Thomas and Kelly are busts. 2nd worst corps in the East Eagles- pathetic RB Skins- Portis, Betts Eagles- Westbrook is best in Division, but edge to skins b/c of better depth Cowboys- Barber unproven as featured back, but dangerous. Jones unproven, looks like he sucks so far though Giants- :jerk: D-line 4 way tie imo with the injury to Osi, otherwise Giants are 1 Zoony I agree with all of this except for the WRs. I think you have the ranking right, but to say Kelly and Thomas are busts already is a bit premature, don't you think? :2cents:

I think you have the ranking right, but to say Kelly and Thomas are busts already is a bit premature, don't you think? :2cents: Not really. Thomas has the makings of a huge bust. He had one good year in upper division football. He had a good combine and ran around cones well. Kelly... well, what can I say? Everybody and their mother knew he had a knee condition, and he's sitting out because of his knees.

lars96789
QB: Even though Romo sits to pee is a bit overrated, he's still the best QB in the division. It hurts, but it's the truth (for now). I'm tempted to say Eli is the second best in the division because I think his whole playoff run wasn't just a fluke, but Donovan McNabb has been looking really good lately. I'm really ready to believe Jason Campbell can be better then all those guys I mentioned above in a year or two. I mean come on! You have Zorn to coach you and Thomas, Kelly, and Davis (maybe) on your side of the ball! WR: I'd say we're gonna have the best WR corp in a couple of seasons. But right now, I'd have to say the Giants have the best WRs in the division (followed by us ). They have Plaxico and you also have Amani Toomer and Steve Smith (No, not that Steve Smith). They also have Mario Manningham who I believe can be a solid receiver some day. Followed by TO then the Eagles DL: If it weren't for Osi's injury, I'd pegged them as having the best DL in the division. But because of the loss of Osi and our pick up of Jason Taylor, I'd say it's a tie between us and the Giants. RB: In my opinion, we have the best RBs in the division . Clinton Portis is just da bomb (especially in Madden ) and is an excellent blocker. Second place goes to everyone else. The Giants have Bradshaw and Jacobs who make a pretty potent combo. The Eagles have Westbrook who is obviously a very talented RB. The Cowboys have Barber and Felix Jones (Could be a very good RB one day). OL: Meh, don't know much about OL. I'll say the Cowboys have the best OL because they have like 3 or 4 Pro Bowl linemen. But I will say (because I know ALL) that we make it to the Divisional round in the Playoffs
NoCalMike
Honestly, I think this is the Cowboys year to take the division. Other then that I think 2nd place is wide open. The Giants have defense took a major hit with Strahan retiring and Osi going out for the year. in 2007 the Giants offense simply didn't have to make mistakes in order to win. In 2008, Eli is going to have to go out and actively try and outscore opponents. The Eagles seem to be getting all this love simply because McNabb is "healthy" again, although who knows for how long. He seems to have major injury just about every season. I guess if you feel McNabb & Brian Westbrook offer enough firepower by themselves to take on the good defenses of the NFC East.....!?! Looking at all the experts analysis, it seems the only real knock they have against the Skins right now is the fact that they are in a new offense. Which to me is pretty much an a lame reason for them to put the Skins in last place. We are returning most of the same starters from last years playoff team and have added Jason Taylor to our D-line. This is a team that split with Dallas (Although yeah the 2nd game they probably weren't trying very hard, but he we were in the first once till the closing seconds) and a team that should have beaten the Giants twice, in two very tightly contested games. I don't believe the offense is going to be instantly on fire, but I think our defense is going to be good enough to allow our offense to grow and get better throughout the season. I am thinking 9-7 or 10-6. Whether that is good enough to get a wild card....who knows?
