Brandon Lloyd Christmas
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft08/news/story?id=3358424 well at least we know one pick!
burger13
great move getting him signed before the draft.....no team wants a repeat of the Raiders/russell debacle from last year.
lovetoaster
But I bet they still take all of the time on the clock to make their selection. Just to piss the viewers off.
helptheSKINS
great move getting him signed before the draft.....no team wants a repeat of the Raiders/russell debacle from last year. Exactly. They would have taken any of the 4 top guys. Parcells is a smart football guy no doubt.
Hiro
Paging Al Davis and the Raiders FO. Art thou taking notes? Great pick by the Dolphins. If all goes well, Jake Long should be a cornerstone of that offensive line for years to come. Dolphin fans should be optimistic.
ECU-ALUM
Hey Parcells is getting things done in Miami.
DGreenistheBest
They're going to need all the help they can get if they want to make a run at winning that division. Wouldn't have minded seeing Long on our line at some point in the near future, but that's obviously a pipe dream.
jimster
The first round just got a few minutes shorter.
Burgundy Burner
And the St. Louis Rams are on the clock. Chris Long will probably be the choice in this slot. Maybe we will see two selections before the draft actually begins.
PleaseBlitz
Classic Parcells move.
JMURedskins
Very good move to get him signed now. If he can have the impact that Joe Thomas had his rookie year, their O-line will be a lot better. With their second round pick, they should be getting 1st round talent out of it. This should be a very good draft for them.
Genghis Khan
It will be exciting to see who they get because they will be getting the cream of the crop and that team wasn't too horrible to begin with. There offensive line was already pretty good actually. They should see a quick turn around with this draft as long as the coaching is up to the challenge. elkabong82
Anybody know the exact contract figures? And I agree, very smart move by the Fins. Better to sign him up ahead of time than draw the contract talks out through the offseason and possibly have to pay more money.

I think the Dolphins will be a very intriguing team to watch this season. Ronnie Brown and John Beck must be jumping for joy right now with the Jake Long pick. laurent
Ronnie Brown is a straight up beast, it'll be interesting to see how he bounces back from his injury. It's also going to be intriguing to see how Williams can do as a change of pace back. If there's one guy that can get into Rickie's head it's Parcells. Just looking what he's done to resurrect Terry Glenn's career has got to have Dolphins fans excited. The ground and pound will be a huge advantage for Miami in home games during the humid first 2 to 3 months of the season.

redskns21
Very smart move in simply selecting the offensive lineman here. I just don't know that Chris Long would have been a great fit in the pros as a 3-4 DE and once they traded for their NT from Dallas this offseason, you knew that Dorsey wasn't going to be their target. It'll be interesting to see what the Rams do now.

laurent
Good move for the 'Phins IMO No doubt, when you can find that franchise LT it's one thing you don't have to worry about for a while. Just look at how well Samuels has worked out fo r us. Easily the best draft pick Washington has made (not counting Taylor).
