Brucko
What about trading for Chris Simms as a second or third string QB? He knows the WC system, and has had some success in the past. He probably could be obtained fairly cheap. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks
CBass1724
7th rd pick, no more than that. How about no trading of draft picks this year?
jimster
I mentioned this in another thread. I believe he may be a free agent this year.
DGreenistheBest
Will we have to trade another pick to get his spleen back?
Redskins4ever
I would rather draft a young QB that played in a WCO in college. Simms is good, but he's not his dad. If we are going to acquire a veteran QB, then we might as well try to attain someone who has more experience.
THUNDERDOME
I'd rather have a vet behind JC.
Mania
He isn't worth it. We need a back up qb that can tutor Campbell on wco. The best would be someone whom Zorn has coached, such as dilfer or frerotte. With frerotte we need to place a sign that says head goes here. CBass1724
The only reason this would work is that Zorn is a lefty along with Simms. Not sure if it matters but is probably easier for him to teach that way.
SKINS FAN #56
Hey whatever happened to that guy? I remember he was on fire with the Bucs. Then all of a sudden, I heard nothing about him anymore.

CallMeGreen
I wouldn't take Chris Simms in a box. I wouldn't take Chris Simms with a bag of rocks. I wouldn't take Chris Simms if his NFL stats were the size of a mouse (oh wait, they are). I wouldn't take Chris Simms if you gave me his house (or his car). I don't want Chris Simms for a 2010 draft pick. I don't want Chris Simms for a used WaterPik. I don't want Chris Simms even if he's really St. Nick. I don't want Chris Simms if you GAVE me Tampa's #1 pick (OK, maybe then). No thanks, Brucko, if that's your name. I don't want Chris Simms because he's really quite lame. missionwild_10
Good stuff callmegreen, I think we could trade an item off of the dollar menu for simms. Two words, doo doo.
Troy Fakeman
I would offer a 8th round pick... Wait...........
CBass1724
Straight up for Blloyd. I take that back. We can throw in 2 DCB's and a 4 piece mcnugget. On 2nd thought, keep the food, we can just send them Blloyd and tell them to keep Simms too.
pgray1111
Anyone who would endorse either a trade or a free agent signing of chris simms is out of their mind. For starters, he's not that good. he had one good season with the bucs, but since then, all he's proven is that he's a fragile guy, at a position where that's unacceptable. Second, like mark brunell before we signed HIM, Chris Simms is about to get cut in Tampa Bay. Any team who would be dumb enough to trade something for a guy who is going to be on the scrap heap, is just stupid.
TLusby
Why? He'll be cut!
[[ghost]]
I wouldn't ever trade for him. Unless it was a 7th rounder in 2014.

dswerdlw
Assuming that we lose Collins and cut Brunell, wait for Simms to be cut, then sign him. He showed courage and toughness in that game he played with a ruptured spleen. He's smart and can play a clean game when asked. That makes him a decent backup. speardog1
This is a horrible idea. listening to the radio coverage of the Bucs in camp, they would say things like "wow, this guy can't hit a broad side of a barn." They said that his injury must have been more serious or something because it was like he had to learn to throw all over again. They actually expected him to be cut, but since he's Gruden's boy they held on to him. Anyway, the last thing we need is a garbage arm.
