We got a good one in Carter, but can we please get him some help please!!?

I'm tired of seeing only Carter getting in there from a D-line standpoint...I know Jared Allen could get tagged, but we got too...NO we desperately need to get this guy....

(if we did nothing to the defense including the draft this offseason except aquire Jared Allen ....Allen would make us ALOT better!)IMO...If we don't address our D-line,then it's going to be the same damn thing every year!! (course we need much more than just allen, but just sayin')

I think we should get Allen AND draft a DT or DE as well...We need to stack that D-line BIG TIME!

I'm tired of seeing our Dline look like defensive side of the Seattle/Hasselback commercial...!It's ridiculous!

We have one of the best LB and d-back core in the game...But unless we blitz with our LB's we ain't gettin' pressure!

Can you imagine pressure from the front 4, with our LB's and D-backs...?

I agree and have maintained the same for some time as have many others. Strong defensive lines can take you very, very far in a short amount of time. Allen would make our entire defense very much for the better. I really do not see it happening though unless Spags ends up the HC and really makes a case for him. This is one of the few guys I would even consider paying the tag price to acquire.

Peterson already said they will tag Allen if they can't sign him.

The only way the Skins can get him is if he would agree to sign with the Redskins -- assuming we could fit him under our cap -- which would cost us TWO 1st round picks (2008 and 2009). Unless K.C. agreed to take less, which is doubtful.

I hope it gets some serious work regardless of who we get as head coach look what the giants d-line did in that game.

Agreed and if Spags comes here the D-Line has to be solid for his system to work...because face it...Strahan, Osi, Tuck and anyone else who plays in New York is not coming with him.

and allen already said he'll never sign a long term deal with them if he get's tagged.

very least you get a patriots/asante samuel style situation were he holds out and agrees to a 1 year contract with a clause stating he can't be franchise tagged the year after.

I go tsome news for you brother. He aint coming here. KC already said they will franchise him if need be. Also, if he does come available I can see the Eagles landing, especially since they have about 20 million in cap room. That is a position the cheap Eagles do spend on in free agency.

NOT HAPPENING.

Spagnoulo is interviewing for the head coach position not the defensive coordinator job. Blache does not believe in DE's rushing the passer. CBs do that for him.

No way we get Allen this year. No way anyone gets him this year. He will be franchised and probably have it in a one year deal that he can't be again. Maybe next year but he'll still command HUGE money. Suggs and Henderson will probably be franchised too if they can't come to a deal.

HC > DC. I'm sure they'd work together, but I'm also pretty sure Spags would insist on a better D line in addition to CB blitzes, etc.

So basically this has zero chance of happening.

Not to mention the fact that we would be taking a chance on a guy that has been arrested/charged for Driving Under the Influence a total of 3 times within 4 years. :2drunks: :koolaid: :refill: :40oz: :pint:

If you don't score more points than the other team, you lose. A DE is a nice dream, but the D was able to stand on their own last year and Chris Wilson may be the next Jason Tuck. (as in cheap, undicovered talent)

You can't keep drafting defensive players. Eventually you pay for it and I believe the piper is here with his hand out. We need O-Line big time, much bigger than the need for any defensive player. O-Line that are in the league more than 8 years don't play for the entire season and the difference between first string and second string is big on the Skins.

If you want to start doing things like NE does, look at how many O-Line they drafted in the first 5 rounds since 2000: three times as many as the Skins. Time to pay the piper. Draft O-line now!
