KevinthePRF
1. This is practically my homepage. I look at others, but only post here. 2. Camaraderie and news my two main reasons. 3. I miss Die Hard's interactive fan map he had up for awhile, looking forward to it's return if possible.
Die Hard
Kevin - Excellent idea. I completely forgot about it. It would be very appropriate and an excellent feature. It will be reborn next week. ------------------ [ by Die Hard on August 04, 2001.]
Fitz
This is the only board I post to these days, though I occasionally peruse the CPND board and the Post's Delphi forum. I used to post at Webskins, which is OK, and another Delphi spot, FOXSports NFC East forum. I got very tired there of constantly getting into verbal wrestling matches with one particularly annoying netwit who felt he was the world's foremost football authority (you know the type: undoubtedly a 15-year old kid with bad skin, challenging all to debate his supreme football knowledge. Of course, his job paid $10 million a year, he drove a Lamborghini Countach, and his girlfriend was a supermodel ). I come here for the info, the camaraderie and the general tone of the place. Whenever someone like the aforementioned netwit does find his way here, they seem to tire quickly of listening to the grownups talk. I also like meeting Redskin people from outside of the DC area; we have a pretty wide-ranging bunch here, and it keeps things interesting. Finally, this board is incredibly active; whether mid-season or mid-March, you can always find interesting discussions going on. As far as improving the board, I'm with Pete - if nothing changed, I'd be perfectly happy. Note to Bill - if you go to NFL.com on gamedays, you can find links to streaming audio for most games. Unfortunately, you'll have to listen to the opposition's broadcast because as Art pointed out, Infinity's policy doesn't allow you to get Sonny, Sam and Frank. Of course, if the other broadcast is also Infinity, you're SOL. [ by Fitzman on August 04, 2001.]

gbear
I have no idea why, but my work computer will not save passwords. None of the ones in my office will. I alwaysassumed it was a gov. security thing. At home, I can post, but I only bothered to buy a computer in the past year (after spending atleast 40 hours a week on one, it's hard to want to go home to one). JimboDaMan
I posted a bit on the old WP board, then found my way to the Rivals board, now I split my time between here and the CPND board. Those TSN boards always seemed to degenerate into a sloppy turdfest so I pretty much stayed away. Gotta love the general knowledge of the posters, and especially the way folks conduct themselves. The occasional 'enemy' who drifts thru seems to pretty much catch the 'tude and post intelligently. Even the occasional Bux92 posts more with humor than spite. I like the format here. Message index chronological by most recent post works well. I like how it opens the whole thread at once without having to click on each individual post. And of course the icons keep everybody working to get to that next level Wouldn't change much of anything. An occasional contest - maybe a weekly pool in season - might be fun but I don't think you need to offer $100 prizes to keep this crowd happy. I do miss Karl's reports on the Rivals board but lately we've had some excellent camp writeups from the fan base here. On the whole a terrific site. Keep it up and thanks! MarkPSkins
I'm sorry, what was the qestion? I read the question like an hour ago and forgot what it was. Anyway, since I don't remember what the question was, I just wanted to say that this is a great board and I lurk practically constantly during my work day. Because I am a Redskins Junky, I search any and all boards for information I have yet uncovered. This board usually has it all or within minutes of others. I know more about the Redskins than I think I want to from this board. ------------------ As always, my opinions do not reflect the opinions of management and are based on ficticious opinions. Similarities to any opinion living or dead is completely unintentional.
Om
(I love that I indisputably lead the league in saying "sorry for the lack of brevity, but ... ") Sorry for the lack of brevity, but ... Blame Extremeskins for perpetrating me upon the web. I was a Redskins junkie who spent countless hours surfing the NFL sites for scraps of info during the season, to try to quench the insatiable thirst for Skins minutiae, then searching for simple sustenance during the endless off-season. Prior to last year's draft, it got silly. Those #2 and 3 picks, man. Too much. I ended up bookmarking at least 10 mock draft-type sites, and would literally check each one several times a DAY for updates. As if "Fred's Mock Draft" update, stating that LaVar Arrington was in fact the second coming of LT, but Courtney Brown really made for sense for the Redskins, thus making Brown the better choice at 2, had anything even remotely resembling validity or merit in the real world. It was never enough, though. Now, I had heard about message boards, but I was a snob. Message boards? They were like chat rooms, right? Bunch of morons with no life, talking to other morons with no life, sharing insights like "the Cowboys suck" with each other, in tedious, pathetic anonymity. They were right, of course. The Cowboys DO in fact suck. But that's not the point. The point is, that who the funk really cares what some cyber-doofus named SilverStarFan14 says on the internet? I mean, really. Then, and I don't remember how or why ... I stumbled in this door, sometime during the 2000 offseason. Hmm, I said, after reading a bit, a couple of these anonymous doofi actually have something to say. Must be a fluke. Couple of days later, I came back, and found ... more of the same. Hmm, said I, never looked at it THAT way before. Interesting. And so it went. I found myself coming back more and more. Subtly, slowly, I came to realize that there might actually be something to this whole message board thing. This one, anyway. I was nowhere near ready to sign up, mind you, or think about participating. ‘Cause the truth is, it came to be a bit intimidating. Some of the regulars, who I came to recognize fairly quickly, really did have an authoritative voice, and there was no way was I gonna chime in with something stupid. No sir, where I came from, in MY circle of friends, I was as close to an authority on the Redskins and football in general as there was. I wasn't about to be just another voice saying, "yeah, what he said." Come last July, though, that changed. Can't remember exactly what the subject was, but a thread came along that I just HAD to be part of. So, I plunged in. And said something stupid. And got (deservedly, I'm quite sure) brushed aside by a regular. Curses! After regrouping (and a bit of therapy) at some point, a couple of weeks/months later ... I chose to color outside the box. So I held my breath, clenched my teeth, and made a tiny what-I-hoped-was-a Bardian comment. In context of a Ravens scenario, I posted "Quoth the Ravens: Mookie Moore?" A few minutes later, one of the regulars responded, with a laugh smilie or something ... and I was transported. Affirmation! I think that's what makes this place work. Once a couple of the regulars extend a cyberhand, and you feel like you've added something to the conversation, well, that's it. You're hooked. At least I was. Today, I can't imagine not having this place to turn to. The members are almost all (had to ) smart, respectful, knowledgeable, and even tolerant of a tedious blowhard like myself. I do visit CPND and RedskinsHQ, and even post there from time to time, but usually only in quick response to someone else. No, for better or worse, I reserve my most extended extemporaneous essays for you guys, and, for the most part you seem to tolerate them. For that I am more grateful that I am likely able to convey. I've even made a pest of myself to Blade, and that worthy has accommodated me with patience and grace. I think that may well be the key. Blade, Die Hard and Art set a high standard indeed, in setting up and maintaining this board, and the discourse seems to naturally follow suit. The general absence of flamers has been documented, and I suspect that is why. Visitors who don't see a whole lot of "Oh yeah? Well your guys suck MORE!" posts, aren't inclined to go there themselves. It's self-perpetuating and self-policing. And I hope it stays this way for a long, long time. ‘Cause I tell ya, I ain't going back to Fred's Mock Draft for my daily fix, ever again ... Hail. JMac
I love this board. As you can see I dont post much but I guarantee I read every post that is put on here. I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and I have nothing but Dallas Cowgirl fans around me. I also read the posts on the CPND board and also subscribe to the Webskins email list. I love to read posts from fans who live out there and get to see the players first hand at camp and at games. I just want to thank everyone who is posting about camp and who gets the info before all the news people do. This is a great board!! Thanks guys!! Doug near DC
This is the only "Redskin's Fan" board that I post on, but I post on several other all "sports" boards. By the way, this is my favorite board. I don't think prizes and stuff is important. I'm not sure that inviting fans of other teams is good either. I read boards that need moderating 24/7. Keep up the good work, you have a good thing going. ------------------ It's all about the BURGANDY and GOLD
88Comrade2000
Is this your primary Redskin message board, or simply an alternate (being equal or less than another)? This is my primary board. Love it. What is the key component for posting here (information, camaraderie, ranking system, etc.)? Everything. What would you like to see added to make your Extremeskins experience even better (prizes, leagues, trips, etc.)? Sure why not.Actually what would make it great would be for us to be able to talk one January, soon be February sunday about another Skins Sb win. Tom [Giants fan]
I am here because I love to talk football with rival fans. Especially the days leading up to our games. You guys know a lot about football and that is what I look for. I like to talk to people who know about football, not idiots who pretend too just to be annoying. Also, my main source for message boards, TSN, are absolutely horrible now. I look forward to another year of the Giants being disrespected. Talk to you guys soon. Henry
I am a TSN refugee myself. I started at the AOL boards in 95 but switched to TSN when I dumped my AOL account. Once DH set this board up I followed The Great Redskin Messageboard Migration of 2000 and have been here ever since. This board is the only one I read anymore. Wouldn't change a thing, except maybe reorganize the ranks now that we have so many 500+ posters, but whatever. Great board. Keep up the good work guys. ------------------ "Men, there's nothing to get excited about. The situation is normal; we are surrounded." Reaganaut
Die Hard, Apologies. Just getting used to this forum. I didn't see your reply to me until now. (It should have been obvious to me that replies are not threaded) To answer your question, Spizzuco is still terrorizing the USENET group and relishing the enemies he makes along the way. His signature file says "I am this newsgroup you cannot killfile me." Lovely. He just wants to show how smart he is and how dumb you are. A one trick pony. Zzzzzzz... I got tired of Spiz's rants, the lame homoerotica from Hoover, and some of the racist garbage that is going on there right now with threads like "The 10 dumbest athletes of the 20th century" Threads appear with comments like: "Alan Iverson - Is that English he's speaking?" As you can see from my Username, I'm partial to a former American of great stature, but it turns my stomach when I read crap like this. I want REDSKINS FOOTBALL 24/7!!!!! This forum is even better than I thought at the start. True enthusiasts here, no egos. The type of fans that I used to love hanging with at RFK in the RV section. ------------------ "It's Doctor Evil, I didn't spend six years in evil medical school to be called Mister Evil" - Dr. Evil
Henry
Sorry, I just thought of something. A minor suggestion: If a thread goes on for more than one page, have links to the pages next to the title of the thread on the main screen. That way, if you want to read page 3, you don't have to open the thread first and then hit the link. Like I said, a minor suggestion, but since you asked ... ------------------ "Men, there's nothing to get excited about. The situation is normal; we are surrounded." indyskinsfan
What is the key component for posting here (information, camaraderie, ranking system, etc.)? 1. All the above, but mainly for exchange among redskins fans. This place has helped me with new career in law, save money on shopping and repairs, plan trips, score a girl (just kidding ), etc. Be a nut NOT to check this place out. Hmmm I must be getting soft What would you like to see added to make your Extremeskins experience even better (prizes, leagues, trips, etc.)? Girls, Girls, and lots of em! Monkey
This is the main board I use. Most of the places I've been seem to devolve into "you ugly and your mother dresses you funny" kind of trash talk. Although most of us are 'homers', there are a lot of knowledgable posters here that either help me understand the game better, make me nostalgic (or, in Om's case, salivating for the future) or challange me to confirm/deny my opinions. Without increasing your workload too much or pushing you into a pay for service, the only thing I can think of are standard links to Redskin info but then there are already several good Redskin portals anyway. ------------------ There are two kinds of opinions, mine and the wrong one! Beaudry
This is my primary Skins board (former CPND). My only other Skins board is just Hogie and I posting.
