Sideline communication breakdown? (Merged)

Did anyone listening to the radio broadcast hear about the trouble the Redskins sideline was having communicating with Saunders in the booth? Apparently, they lost communications to Saunders in the booth. This started in the first quarter and the situation was being updated periodically. All they were saying was that the Redskins coaching staff was huddled around the communications guy, whoever that is. Larry ended up saying something to the effect that as long as the sidelines could communicate with Campbell, NFL rules did not permit forcing the Patriots to drop any of their communications.

If this is true, it seems very suspicious. Did anyone hear whether or not the problem was resolved?

This has happened to quite a few teams in New England, :whoknows:

Thats very suspicious and unfair if the Pats didn't have to turn their communications off too.

If the Pats do end up 16-0, they will always be remembered for breaking rules and records to boot. :2cents:

Yeah I know, that crap doesnt suprise me. You would think that the NFL would do more of an effort to deal with crap like that after several teams have reported it, but hey, why brother the media babies, the "Golden Boy" Brady and the "Genius" at cheating

NFL rules state that equal communication opportunities for both teams must exist. If one team loses a part of it's communication set-up the other team must forfeit the use of that same part. Redskins lost their ability to communicate between the coaches in the box and the coaches on the ground.

Even if the Redskins were using modern day technology and the Patriots were chipping figures in rock it wouldn't have made any difference.

All three road games this year - the Eagles, Packers, and Patriots - the Redskins have complained about this. I find it hard to believe other organizations have complained to near the degree ours has. And it's always the same thing - vague issues that aren't obvious enough to trigger the rule that both teams' headsets must be turned off.

I've come to the belief that this is a weapon in our organization's deep arsenal of excuses for on-the-field difficulties (remember, after the Eagles game, this was brought up in relation to the end-of-first-half problems). We like to complain about officials' calls and injuries, but this is truly a creative excuse that they appear to be ready to use over and over.
