SkinzFoLife
The D-Line looked good against the run but once again our starting front 4 could not get a sack.
ouvan59
We were 4th in the NFL last year in rushing and gave up 19 sacks. Are you guys really questioning Joe Bugel's ability because we sucked in one preseason game??? Good God people!!!

Are you guys really questioning Joe Bugel's ability because we sucked in one preseason game??? Good God people!!! Coincidentally, the Redskins were 4th overall in rushing attempts.... and 24th overall in passing attempts. Good god dude.... how do you overlook something so obvious. Ya think just maybe the amount of attempts has something to do with it? Geez. You know what's impressive? Check out the top 5 teams with the fewest sacks surrendered - including Washington - and where they rank in pass attempts. Green Bay (1st overall) - 24 sacks New Orleans (5th overall) - 23 sacks Indianapolis (6th overall) - 15 sacks Baltimore (13th overall) - 17 sacks Washington (24th overall) - 19 sacks Now, which team in that group is the least impressive? Die Hard
1 every 20.6 att- Bears1 every 26.2 att- Packers 1 every 25.1 att- Saints 1 every 24.8 att- Skins 1 every 25.1 att - Ravens 1 every 37.1 att- Colts Those stats at are touch misleading... considering they're ALL going to be within 2 points of each other... with the exception of an anomoly like Indy. For instance.... the Packers threw the ball 160 more times than the Redskins... and only gave up 5 more sacks in all those attempts. And they gained almost 800 more yards through the air than the Redskins. Without any statistics.... who would have argued that the Green Bay Packers have a better offensive line than the Redskins? Seriously. Even if the poll was.... which offensive line would you rather have in pass protection? I guarantee you NO ONE would have said the Packers. But statistically, yes, the Packers are better than the Redskins. Surrendering 19 sacks wasn't indicative of the quality of the offensive line. Henry
They only showed him about two dozen times, but Vince Young looked great. Love that hat.

Roll your friggin eyes all you want. We were #5 in the entire NFL in sacks/pass attempt. And we weren't 4th in rushing attempts we were 8th. We were also 8th in yards per carry. But by all means don't let the actual facts get in the way of a good knee-jerk panic. Number of Pass Attempts/Sack 1. Indy 37.13 2. Balt 30.82 3. GB 26.25 4. NO 25.22 5. WASH 24.74 6. Giants 20.92 7. Do you realize that if you extrapolate what the Redskins would have done in those 160 extra pass attempts they would have gained about 1,030 yards which from where I am sitting is more than 800 (even though the actual number the Packers gained more than the Skins was 768)? And do you realize that at the rate of sacks we had that if we had thrown the ball 160 more times we would have ended up with 25 sacks against, or one whole sack more than the Packers?
