Hawkskin
I tell you what I would not be dissapointed if we got Gaines Adams! I know all the talk latley has been for Anderson or Branch...but Adams has good things ahead of him. He seems to be getting the same rap as did Kiwanuka did last year and he slipped to the end of the first round and was amazing for the Gints. A trade down to pick up more picks would obviously be ideal...but Branch-Adams or Anderson....cant go wrong IMO...what do u think?
Grimm
I don't think Adams is as much of a complete player as Anderson is, he has a reputation for being weak against the run. From what I have read Adams sounds a lot like Andre Carter, a pass rush specialist that could be a OLB in a 3-4 system. We need a strong DE that can play a complete game against run and pass. pjfootballer
I'd rather have Anderson. Very tall, Julius Peppers like upside.
wilbur58z
Adams stock fell slightly because he did not go to the Senior Bowl. But most mocks still have him going to Arizona at #5. Which is fine with me because I want Anderson in burgundy and gold.
Hawkskin
yeah Anderson does look amazing...and you are right our run defense was very suspect....we could go with Okoye...im just hoping Calvin Johnson or Quinn fall a bit so we can get a trade partner! skinsblitz
Trade the pick and get more picks. This cycle of ineptness by our front office of trading away picks like they are worthless and signing overpriced free agents has got to stop sometime. We must build and develop talent through the draft. It works for the other 31 teams, why not us? All these older, overpriced free agents are doing nothing but keeping us at the mercy of the salary cap year after year. Which means we restructure contracts to get under the cap, and the whole cycle begins again. STOP THE MADNESS!!! Lets not keep making the same mistakes over and over. :2cents:

I wonder if that's they REAL reason we rely so heavily on FA over draft. You may just have a point there. This is why we need a real GM. Not some guy with the title and no stroke. I don't see Coach Gibbs bringing a guy in here to pretty much be above him in the chain of command. Unless Snyder does it himself, it's not gonna happen. And I don't see Danny-Boy going over Coach's head on that one. He's trying to distance himself from being the meddling owner. We can hope next season turns out better, but without a properly structered front office it may be a repeat of the '06 season. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's not. :logo:
jasimpson
You guys are all wrong, we need that strong, dominant, huge 2 gap defensive TACKLE, and he is Alan Branch. He will free up Carter, Carter will pressure qb's into making bad decisions, qb's will throw pic six's to Sean Taylor, see it all works together. mcarey032
Branch is a beast! I hope that we get him. I don't see us doing that though. We need DE and we definitely need a DB. You can also through in the list of needs a back up lineman just in case of injury and also in case we don't get dockery back.
Skins110
We need Anderson. He is the best DL available.
deejaydana
Adams is light and, relatively, undersized for the NFL as of this writing. he is however young and can put on the weight needed. Branch however is the smart money pick and though I don't think he'll ever be a sack-master, he WILL need to be doubled teamed and his athleticism is off the charts. Gibbs will take the proven performer if Branch is still there at #6, I'd almost put money on it. No slight to Anderson but he still has an element of risk that can't be ignored. 0mega
I'm fine with Anderson OR Branch - either one has the potential to dramatically improve our Line, which will dramatically our defense as a whole.
goskins72
We need both a DE and DT. I rather draft Branch and sign a FA DE Maybe Allen from KC just have to hire a Limo service for him when he goes out.:eaglesuck
Veretax
We need Calvin Johnson More. A powerful weapon on offense means fewer 3 and outs, fewer 4th and goals, and fewer field goals in the red zone
sknsrbck26
Anderson without doubt...or a trade down.

phatboy41
I wanted to touch on a couple issues here... I have not seen Jamaal Anderson play as much as I've seen Gaines Adams. I have noticed that Adams does seem to get one dimensional at times and resorts to the same move all the time. I think he has great upside, but from reading what everyone is saying about Anderson he sounds more like the complete package to me. Also, with the possibility of not being able to get Nate Clements here, picking up Leon Hall suddenly doesn't seem like such a bad idea at all. I know many people are against picking a CB in the first round because it is a tough position and a hard one to adapt to, and I am one of those people, but Leon Hall seems like he has a great deal of upside and I've seen him play a lot, he's been smoked before, but I think all in all he has proven he's a great player. Loyal2Washington
I don't think anybody on here would be that upset if we drafted Gaines Adams. Branch and Anderson are the two front horses in this race but if we drafted Adams a lot of people will change their tune. If not for Andre Carter then Adams would be just as drooled over as the other two but facts are facts and Branch and Anderson fit on the team better today then Adams. Thought it took Carter a while he finally started to show up, and if Carter weren't here a speed rusher like Adams would fit great, but I think we need a DE who can be superior against the run and has the ability to rush the QB as well. Thing is, when you dont have a pass rush any CB is going to get smoked alot. Right now going CB is not the way to go. Get pressure on the QB and stuff the run.
