Well like I said, our "politicians" have a tendency to forget that they're politicians ... they think they're philosophers or generals or preachers because they get comfortable and arrogant after a while. A true politician should be doing what the people want, because that's what should get the votes.

Actually, the skills of a politician are useful in all the other endevours listed. For instance, the ability to define a problem in terms so that only you (or your favored group) can provide the solution or to define a solution and then come up with a problem and then to demegogue your competition for not providing a solution.
