Duckett..maybe the reason he doesn't get carries.

I like how you only quote a part of my response to substantiate your post. Very crafty.

Nothing else needed comment. You basically took two paragraphs to say the same thing twice.

Some bizarre conspiracy makes no sense. One of these guys will be back; either Betts or Duckett. They won't both be here. Why make Duckett's value go down and let Betts go, considering Betts is already entrenched in the Offense? It doesn't make sense. Duckett wouldn't have huge Free Agent value as a Falcon or a Redskin. He's a backup and will never be a full-time starter regardless where he goes. He was a backup in Atlanta and will be a backup anywhere else.

He's already making more money than he can spend. He gets $1m this year alone. I'm sure he's hardly suffering and can feed his family, so think of that before you postulate that he hates Gibbs for "holding him back" or some other nonsense.

I think Hate Gibbs is a little strong...but he is PISSED OFF that a team would bring him in and then make him be a water boy for the whole season. Sure the money is nice and all...but he is leaving MILLIONS on the table by not playing this year. Oh yeah, and don't tell me that he can't be a starter in this league (not saying he will be) look at Lamont Jordan. He was a backup behind Curtis Martin and got paid HUGE money to be "the man" in Oakland. Either way Duckett will leave the second the season is over...and most likely go to Pittsburgh or Philly.

Either way this has been a WASTE of TJ's time/talent and a WASTE of a third round pick for Washington.

TJ is still showing class with this situation...I would be freaking out if I were him.

First of all, if you think there is any chance that Duckett will be here next year then you must be crazy. You can mark my words on that one. Given the way the Redskins front office has worked the past year, I wouldn't be suprised if they both left...but Duckett is a goner for sure.

Second, let's not moan about how much money he makes. If it wasn't going into his pocket it would be going straight into the Danny's.

And again, I will postulate whatever I like. Gibbs actually is "holding him back" for sure and he knows it, which is why he publicly apologized for not playing him several weeks ago. I'm sure that Duckett understand Gibbs' resistance to shake up the ranks but I seriously doubt that he is happy about it. You don't reach the professional level without a competitive nature, and he must be frustrated as hell that he's not even getting the chance to compete. That said, it's totally realistic and acceptable to have a notion that Duckett isn't real happy with his coaches.

What do you even care if it is true that Duckett doesn't like Gibbs?

Duckett probably wouldnt listen to negotiations from us because of how hes been treated here this season

What do you mean the way he has been treated? First off he knew why we were bringing him in when we traded for him. If you remember Betts and Cartwright were upset and Gibbs came right out and said that he was being brought in for depth and that their roll on the team would not change. Well we are half way through the season, Portis is healthy enough to play and Betts and Cartwright's roll with the team hasn't changed. I believe Gibbs is sincere about wanting to give TJ his chance but it just hasn't worked out that way YET! I do think that Ladell will move on but I think TJ resigns to be CCP's back-up and 1, 2 punch.

I agree. I want to see Duckett as much as anyone on those 4th and 1s and 3rd and 2s. I want to see Duckett as much as anyone when Portis needs a breather. Gibbs was very up front from the beginning and hasn't strayed from his word.

Did any of you honestly think that Betts was going to be injury free for EVERY GAME so far this year?!? come on, he's been blasted a bunch on this board for being injury prone because he was. Evidentally he's proving that he can be healthy for long stretches in the season. It'll take 1 play in 1 game for Duckett to see action.

This is pretty much dead on. Portis got hurt, we freaked out and picked up TJ. Someone else made a point about how when betts and sellers got really upset that maybe Gibbs is still trying to keep them happy and is not playing TJ unless an injury happens to portis or betts. I have said this over and over again, I can not believe TJ is handling this situation like he is. I would not be mad one bit if this guy mouthed off because of the way he is being treated. Read his comments in the post today, nothing but class. FREE TJ!!!!, or give him the damn ball next time.

I think the way TJ is handling the situation is a testament to Gibbs and his people skills and the fact that TJ seems like a pretty cool dude.

My money is goin on both Duck and Betts walking this offseason. We will get some castoff has been (ala Corey Dillon if he is cut in favor of Maroney) to fill the void of backup next season. Duckett probably wouldnt listen to negotiations from us because of how hes been treated here this season, and Betts desperately wants to try to compete somewhere for the starting job. So smart front office, hows it gonna feel when both of them are gone in the offseason?

RBs are easy to find in the draft. Look at the round many good backs are taken..

I'm not really sure the Redskins care if either of them walked away for the money..

Can't help but think that once Duckett does get his chance, he will have a big impact because he will want to prove that he deserves PT.

Not too sure why we don't play him (don't think anyone outside of the organization is), but I'm sure its for a decent reason.

I heard on the Riggo show this afternoon that CP went up to gibbs after that goal line tragedy and said if you want to use TJ next time that is fine by him. I agree Gibbs is just stickig with Portis and RBs live for the goal line attempts. So hopefully after this Gibbs will maybe try the guy who is built like a bulldozer next time.

It's very simple....we signed him when Portis had a serious injury and it was unclear how long it would take for him to return to full form, if ever, this season. Betts would have started, with Duckett backing him up.

Portis is back. Betts is the backup. Duckett goes to third. Third string backs come in because of injury. There are no significant injuries at running back. No Duckett.

Thats it.

Thats far from "it". Are you trying to say that Betts is a better short yardage runner than TJ? TJ is one of the best, if not the best, short yardage runners in the league. Watching an Atlanta game last year they metioned a crazy stat that he had never run for negative yardage in short yardage situations ever. I don't care who is #1 and who is #2. Fact is that TJ is a short yardage beast. Betts can't touch him there. Call him a specialist if you want, but Betts should never get a short yardage carry over TJ. EVER.

Thats it. Thats what is bothering the TJ supporters.

See. Even Portis sees it. No way he goes out of the way to tell Gibbs Betts should have gotten more carries.
