twenty-eight
Wow they get rid of Lloyd, get a third and fourth and they replace him with Bryant. Great move by the 9'ers...Why didnt we just keep our picks and take this guy?? Whatever, i trust joe.

RDSKNFN_48
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2366769 The 49ers swapped the potential of wide receiver Brandon Lloyd for two draft choices from the Redskins, but they replaced him with one of the best receivers left on the free agent market. Antonio Bryant Wide Receiver Cleveland Browns Profile 2005 SEASON STATISTICS Rec Yds TD Avg Long YAC 69 1009 4 14.6 54 248 Antonio Bryant agreed to a four-year, $15 million deal with the 49ers that included a signing bonus in excess of $5 million. The irony of Bryant's signing is that the 49ers tried to sign his replacement in Cleveland, Joe Jurevicius. Jurevicius signed a four-year, $10 million deal with the Browns in order to return to his hometown. Bryant went to the 49ers to be their No. 1 receiver. He's coming off a 1,009 yard season with the Browns after catching 69 passes. He will reunite with a former teammate of his at the University of Pittsburgh, halfback Kevan Barlow. Bryant, 25, has been in the league four seasons.

Big Weirdo
Good move by the Niners. They needed someone to fill the void Lloyd left.
CaliSkinzFan
Good for him. Glad he's not a skin.
TODD
I see both players as equal talents, similar players... I wonder why it was worth giving up picks for Lloyd when we could have courted Bryant for no compensation?
kevinklein
Good move by the Niners. Imagine all the 49ers QBs go down again...how do you think Bryant would like having a Rodeo Star throw to him?
Basileus777
Right now Bryant is the better player, but he has character issues and such.
benny112980
When he was in Dallas he had a big head and thought he deserved to start ahead of Keyshawn Johnson and Terry Glenn, in San Francisco he actually could start with the loss of Lloyd. CowboyinDC
Not last year he didn't. The Browns had no interest in retaining him citing that they wanted a more "professional" attitude from their wide recievers. He must have been rubbing somebody the wrong way. drowland
Good move for the 49ers. They got draft picks from the Skins for Lloyd, then replaced him with pretty much the same type guy in Bryant. Makes you wonder why didn't the Skins just sign Bryant and keep their picks? And don't tell it's because Bryant has an attitude problem. Lloyd has the same issues. Peregrine
I think Gibbs has it under control. Lloyd has more upside than Bryant, is younger, didnt have the issue Bryant did. Funny though how people talk about us overpaying for someone, then look at the deals other people give out. Face it, this years market is a little inflated. Thanks I'm pretty excited about this signing but there is always room for improvement on offense, Vernon Davis! :notworthy:notworthy

Quoted from the AP article: But he drew criticism from coach Romeo Crennel for drops and inconsistency. Bryant also made waves with his temper in Dallas, once getting kicked out of practice for arguing with coach Bill Parcells - even throwing his sweaty uniform at the coach. ...that's why we didn't sign him.
