Just for fun, I emailed him. Here's his reply from his aol email account:

Hi,

The total price for 4 Washington Redskin FULL SEASON TICKETS !! SECTION 101 is $1000. All the seats are together in SEC 101 Row 1.

I sell them for my boss. He is from USA. Right now we are located in LONDON, UK

with some business problems and my boss will not arrive in time that's why I'm selling

the tickets for him. He bought them trough his company so don't worry the tickets are

genuine. Beside this we will use a safe scheme.

We will use Square Trade to handle this. They will act like a 3rd party in this deal like

Escrow.

We will use Western Union as a method of payment and Fed Ex as a shipping method.

Here are in few words the deal steps:

Buyer and seller agree on the transaction terms and a selling price. Seller contacts eBay's

Square Trade Center with the transaction details; eBay's Square Trade Center accepts the

transaction and offers purchase protection to the buyer (if the transaction is declined, no

further action is required from either the buyer or the seller);

The buyer deposit the payment at a Western Union office.

After the payment is deposited, the eBay's Square Trade Center will released the notification that the transfer details are received. After buyer receives the merchandise has five days to inspect it.

If it is complete and as described, the buyer should accept the merchandise.

If he refuses the merchandise, the buyer must ship the merchandise back to the seller within three business days. After the inspection period is over, the buyer must contact eBay's Square Trade Center with the result of the inspection. If the buyer refuses the merchandise, the money from Western Union is retired after the tracking number for the returned shipment is verified.

If you decide to keep the merchandise you will provide the transfer details to the seller in order to pick his money.

Attention: Sending the payment by any other method will void this transaction and your right to refund.

The payment details are confidential and will not be released under any circumstances.

Square Trade security measures are constantly reviewed and modified given involving circumstances globally, drawing on both internal assessments and the support of government agencies.

Their constant priority is for the safety of their people, their customers, and public. Square Trade always tries to fulfill its customers' need.

If you agree with my terms please drop me your full name and address so we can start the deal.

ATTENTION: IN CONCLUSION THE MONEY STAY AT WU UNTIL THE BUYER RECEIVE THE TICKETS ARE IT IS SATISFIED ABOUT THEM.

Shipping will be done trough Fed Ex overnight delivery. It will take about 24 hours to reach your location.

IF YOU WANT TO PURCHASE THEM EMAIL ME BACK WITH:

YOUR FULL NAME:.......

YOUR ADRESS:...

CITY:...

STATE:...

ZIP CODE:....

EMAIL ADDRESS:....

I WILL NEED THESE DETAILS FOR SQUARE TRADE SO THEY CAN CONTACT YOU

THANK YOU

Maybe he's not from the UK after all. His grammar sucks. I wrote him back and said I was very interested. I sent him a fake name and address. Here's his next email to me:

I have sent the details to Square Trade. Now you will have to make the deposit at Western Union on my full name and address. YOU WILL MAKE THE DEPOSIT IN CASH AT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING WESTERN UNION OFFICES ON MY FULL NAME AND ADDRESS THEN YOU WILL EMAIL TO SQUARE TRADE WITH THE TRANSFER DETAILS.

lol

My guess is the guy has a fake ID in the name of Pierre Haurssmannis used solely for getting cash from Western Union. He probably changes the name often. That's how he avoids jail.

You'd have to be pretty friggin' naive to fall for this...

but people do.

I completely believe the guy is a fraud but is this some ghost ebay acount where he/she has built up their acount SPECIFICALLY for football season so they can clean up on fraudalent transactions? It just doesnt make sense to pull this fraudelent stunt of selling cheap but Great seats to every game from an acount that is so reputable?!

thanks Mark, guys the biggest red flag here and most common amongst ebay crooks is they claim that Ebay Square Trade handles escrow which they do not. Ebay reccomends Ecrow.com to handle escrow. and with anybody that wants a large amount of money but won't accept paypal, Escrow.com would be a safe way to proceed. Never ever use western union. either use paypal, escrow or your visa card as visa can refund your money and will.

You can tell that if a seller wants to complete transaction by using Western Union, that's bogus.

eBay has never recommended any buyer to use that type of payment. In fact, eBay always tells buyers to avoid WU. Simple.

Be aware.

The account is hijacked. An account that is hijacked means a criminal has taken control of a reputable account.

makes sense i guess...but how in the HELL did he manage to do that furthermore...how is this still going on? Wouldnt the original ebay acount holder realize this and report it? Gzus is this a common problem on ebay? Makes me never want to buy anything.

I guess what he did is write a small program that attempts to log on to random ebay accounts using a simple password such as abcd1234 or something like that. If he does that to hundreds of accounts, I'd imagine he'd eventually find someone who uses such a dumbass password. I don't know how else he could gain control of four different accounts in two days, as he has the past two days. Typically, his listings only last a day -- before the owner of the account realizes something is wrong. In the great scheme of things, it's not terribly common, but with this guy, he's been doing this several times a week for at least a year. He keeps doing it because he is successful at it. He's apparently making a decent living.

I found the following today after I googled NFL TICKET SCAM. It's the SAME GUY:

Check this auction out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280023445871&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D280023445871%26fvi%3D1

He's selling season tickets for seats at FedExField in section 201, row 12. But there IS no row 12 in section 201. The press level is behind row 6. Just an honest mistake? No. Why is it only a one day auction? Check his feedback. 100% feedback, no worries, right? But the 7 feedbacks are from sellers, not buyers. His maximum purchase: $5.50, over his entire ebay career. All feedbacks within the past six days. No paypal guarantee with this seller, either.

This account and this auction were set-up solely for the purpose of FRAUD.

You've got to love this:

"These are great LOWER LEVEL seats right next to each other These seats are out of any inclement weather and have flat screen TVs for viewing, magnificent seats!!"

Translation:

"These seats are technically in the lower level, but you will receive none of the typical lower level experience, because there are about 75 rows in front of you and a roof that keeps you from seeing the ball on long passes. After you get past the hurt of discovering the big concrete pole in your way (oh, did I forget to mention that? Oops! Silly little me) you should really have a great time. And when all the obstructions prevent you from seeing the action on the field, you can watch the game on TV, just like you were at home! Isn't that magnificent?"
