Texas border standoff with Mexican military

This is completely unacceptable. Poor people crossing in search of hope is one thing....one that needs to be stopped but at least is understandable. This however is an entirely different matter. Armed troops crossing the border? No way that should be tolerated even a little bit.

BTW, I will point out,

I'd bet that these actions aren't official actions by the Mexican government. I'd bet it's more a case of the druggies "contracting" some military units who're making some money on the side.

Either way, the response needs to be the same: Sneak quietly accross the boarder, unarmed, and if you get caught, you'll talk to a judge. But come accross the boarder with a military escort with armed machine guns, and everybody dies.

My thoughts exactly. What kind of international incident would this incite if the tables were turned?

Seriously, I know no one wants to start an "incident" like the guy in the article said, but if we let them keep pushing, then they'll keep pushing. If we reduce ONE of these little incursions to second hand smoke, they'll stop.

As corrupt a country they are, I'd wonder just how much control they have over it.

But either way, even if it's just some crooked officers making some money on the side, we need to convince them that they're not getting paid enough.

BINGO!

I, too, believe that these are not condoned acts by the Mexican government. There's a third party in this. Hopefully, this is NOT bigger than it seems (a "tip of the iceberg" so to speak).
