Many among the tens of thousands of fans showing up at FedEx Field today are under the misguided perception that with a victory over the New York Giants, Joe Gibbs and his rejuvenated team might very well be steamrolling toward an XL Super Bowl victory.

Silly people. Grab hold of yourselves.

Your coach is not going to win a Super Bowl for the fourth time in February.

He is going to lose it.

Yeah...um...great thread but you can thank me for this article. I said these exact same words and thoughts last week on the Monday after the Dallas game. Well, TK or one of the big wig message board Nazis removed or merged my thoughts. I guess that I'm too analytical. But it is nice to see a journalist agree with someone that is of journalist caliber...you know someone like...me! ha-ha

Thanks for the link,

HTTR!!!

I think you meant to say that UnWise Mike could thank you for the article?

As for calling people Nazis - you might consider acting like an adult.

FYI. Comparing the board mods to Nazis' is a good way to end up like the Cowpies in the postseason. Watching from home

I'll comment to you the same way. Read something in it's entirety and then comment. Your interpretation error is not mine. I like TK and all the big wigs. I just disagree with the whole pecking order thing. After all, I'm only a bench warmer. I'm not concerned about my comments. I meant no malice...I'll be in FedEd Field today, so I won't be chatting from home. If I'm benched for loving the Skins, then put me on the pine. Ha Ha. Come on guys, relax...it's the Holidays. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, right?

HTTR!

Seinfeld---"Soup Nazi"---meant in fun, not in malice.

I got it, some people are too uptight.

But about the article posted up there. I don't think the Patriots will be the team to go in the AFC. To get there they will probably have to win on the road in Indy and unless the Colts totally drop off I don't see that happening in the playoffs even though the Pats have owned the Colts in the playoffs in NE.

It wouldnt be the first time UnWise Mike came to Extremeskins for his material. He's even quoted our membership and refused to give attribution (see article where he accuses Redskins Fans of hating on Gibbs religion, based on a single post on this board). Sad for a Post columnist to be so devoid of original thought that he needs to turn to us for his inspiration. We should start sending him a bill :)

Oh, and since I am among those being compared to the 'Soup Nazi', then it only seems fitting for me to say, "No more Extremeskins for you!"

:ciao:

Loud Mouth,

I know all the mods and none of us are liberal socialists, so not of us can be Nazis. Pick a more apt description. Three of the mods are jews. You think you're getting away with that comparision here? No way. Now, if you want to say they killed our Lord and savior you'll be ok :).

As for Wise, he's a tremendous dope:

As Washingtonians frantically try to see if their BlackBerrys can interpret the NFL's confounding playoff scenarios, searching for a way for their team to merely reach the postseason, they may want to instead conduct a much more important analysis of what could be at stake today.

Uh, what, exactly is confounding about our playoff scenarios? We control our destiny. We win, we're in. Period. No way around it. Why do journalists continue to pretend this is not the case?

i think M. Wise is making more of a stretch by implying the Collts will lose the AFC Championship than predicting that the Skins will win the NFC Championship

and if the Skins do make it to a SB against NE, then I like our chances as well as anyone else's -- i'd say it's about even -- in fact, we would probably match up well with the Pats

the one team that might obliterate the Skins in the SB is the Colts, well, b/c they're the Colts -- though even then I think we'd have a decent shot

if by chance we do get to the SB against the Colts, I'd also think there'd be a general sense of just being happy to be there -- I wasn't watching football yet at the time the Skins lost to the 1972 Dolphins, but for those that were avid Skins fans at the time, wasn't that one of the very rare instances when losing a SB didn't have that much of a sting to it, simply because the Phins were so heavily favored and so clearly the team of destiny that year and also because we had actually beaten the Cowboys for the NFC title, which, in effect was our SB?

I know that if we get to Detroit with the Colts as our opponent, I would love to win the SB and pull off the upset of the century, but the nice thing about that scenario is that it probably won't feel like a gutwrenching loss in the same way a loss against any other team would (unless it results from a bogus 2-point conversion call, LOL) -- and don't get me wrong, I'd love a win more than anything else -- just saying that emotionally it wouldn't be that much of a low

No harm meant. Nazis was meant playfully not in malice...I like TK he is a great Skins fan!

Easy fella, Merry Christmas have some egg nog (with alcohol in it). Suggestion...read something in it's entirety and then comment---a thought to live by.

Go Skins!!!

It appears you may have been granted a few days off - but when you get back you can read this:

This is about what you wrote, not how I read it. I have heard that inserting a smiley goes a long way to convey that you wrote in jest.

UnWise Mike is a somewhat interesting, PC blowhard who probably only came to the Post because he wants to follow Wilbon and TK into the television business. Not that there's anything wrong with wanting to do that but when it makes your writing more antagonistic (a la Skip Bayless) then you stop offerring real opinions.

I have heard that he was some big shot in NY. Mr. Tony asserts that he is interested in dethroning TK as the pre-eminent local sports writer personality.

I don't much care for him, but in truth, if we play like we did last week, we have a chance as good as any to make it to the show.

The best way to do that is to piss off the biggest fan base in the region? I don't get it, or him. In fact "I don't get" the entire Washington Post sports section.

It's not impossible you know, but I'm not QUITE that optimistic.

The NFC is still a muddled mess. Any team that gets in the playoffs has a shot to make a run to the Super Bowl. Seattle is a "weak" best team in the conference.

The Skins have won 3 straight, but all over weak teams. Dallas isn't too bad, but they surely played bad against us. Today will tell us much more about the state of the Skins right now. If they can win thier 4th in a row I don't think they will blow next week's game vs. Philly. Once in the playoffs, anything can happen.

But it all starts with today. They must be sharp and play with intensity for 60 minutes.
