dgreen
Not many people seem to know all the words from memory, especially the "Run or pass or score" part. It's not that difficult. Learn it, especially if you are going to a game. Not enough people sing along at the games, in my opinion.
More Complete
My 4 year old learned it when she was 3. Yes, all of it. I'm sure most people here do.
skins0128
New or old version? The original words were: Hail to the Redskins! Hail Victory! Braves on the Warpath! Fight for old Dixie! Run or pass and score -- we want a lot more! Scalp 'em, swamp 'em -- We will take 'em big score Read 'em, weep 'em, touchdown - we want heap more Fight on, Fight on -- 'Till you have won Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah! New Version: Hail to the Redskins! Hail Victory! Braves on the Warpath! Fight for old D.C.! Run or pass and score -- we want a lot more! Beat 'em, Swamp 'em, Touchdown! -- Let the points soar! Fight on, fight on 'Til you have won Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah! Hail to the Redskins! Hail Victory! Braves on the Warpath! Fight for old D.C.! dgreen
My 4 year old learned it when she was 3. Yeah, my 2-year-old knows most of it. She stumbles through the "tough" part. Yes, all of it. I'm sure most people here do. True, this isn't exactly going to be the most representative sample of the average person at Fed Ex. But, it's great to see so many people know it so far. Now on to why too few sing along at games.
Jimbo
Are you kidding? I know the new words AND the old words (pre-1973). They were changed for not being sensitive to Indians/politically correct/whatever you choose to call it. Original words were: Scalp 'em, swamp 'em, we will take 'em big score Reed 'em, weep 'em, touchdown we want heap more. Kinda obvious why they made the switch. Here's a nice link about the fight song. http://www.haruth.com/RedskinsHailtotheRedskins.html *EDIT* You beat me to it skins0128. I've been playing it all day at work for the Broncos and Boys fans that sit around me.
WallyG3
I find it hard to believe any true fans don't know the words. "True fans" being the important part of that statement.

It's cool to hear most of the people in the bar sound-off with Hail to the Redskins after a score. HTTR :logo:
gridironmike
I held walkman headphones on my wifes belly when she was pregnant with my son (yes, seriously). We know the words very well.
Gallen5862
Yes I have known the words for years. I wish they would play the song again after each score on tv. The networks use to show it at RFK with the band and the bleachers rocking.

sknsgirl
We actually learned it in my music class in elementary school (in Northern VA)! But it does seem like I'm virtually the only one in my section singing the whole thing, and most people don't even sing any of it!
