  1. underrated comment 😂😂😂 to quote Metallica - sad but true 🥲🥲🥲🥲
  2. This team is just so hard to predict. They could easily come out flat on Thursday and Fields could run riot. Commanders D seems to generally be weak against running QB's. At the same time the D could finally get going (they tend to feast on weak o lines) Bears are a total mess right now so if Rivera can't rally the troops he has to go. Commanders 24-Bears 21
  3. As much as I think Rivera is a completely bland, middle of the road coach who should be fired sooner rather than later, it was the right call. If they went for it and Eagles D made a play and lost he'd be castigated for not going to OT with momentum. The D didn't step up, Young was missing in action too often, especially with Payne and Allen receiving so much attention. Sweat needed to get to Hurts more too. As for the linebacker situation... it's remains as bad as it has been for a long time. Davis flashes but then misses open field tackles.
  4. Never mind not picking a good GM, the years with Bruce (except for McCloughan), the team didn't really even have a proper GM, Allen was the president if I recall? Unforgivable
  5. I love the optimism but tempered by just how mediocre and uninspiring Rivera is, and how bland his record is (he's a .500 coach after 200 games) I think 7-8 wins is this team, with another bad beating or two possible (Dolphins in Miami in December) there will also be a good upset win (like Philly last year) Progress is all we want/need ahead of Rivera's almost inevitable firing in the off-season
  6. Yes all very valid points The other being Rivera probably knew opportunities to get back to a head coach role so fast (or at all) would possibly not come up
  7. Yep this and coupled with the fact he was supposed to take full control and stop Snyder's meddling. So crazy McVay, Kyle S, Kevin O'Connell and LaFleur were all in the building and we ended up with Jay Gruden (who'll never be a Head Coach in the league again) and Rivera (probably the same).
  8. Maybe cause they're both 85 Bears but I can't help find him so similar (Singletary and Leslie Frazier also played on that team and neither were good head coaches) Both Fisher/Rivera seem well respected and vaunted despite never won anything and having many losing seasons in between play off runs None of Fishers Titans/Rams or Rivera's Commanders/Panthers ever won consistently (compared to other long tenured coaches like Tomlin, John Harbaugh, Reid etc) Both seem uninspiring and unable to regularly get the best out of their players and largely preside over terrible offenses (early Rams with Fisher and Newtons one good season in Carolina aside) fishers stats: 178–171–1 (.510) riveras stats 103–96–2 (.517)
  9. The D line are far too inconsistent, it's maddening Howell has only 4 starts, but he has to just throw the ball away, no one will criticise him for doing so
  10. Agree 100% with this I didn't have any expectation that they'd beat the Bills I still don't really know what Rivera brings to the franchise about from off the field respectability, discipline and manners. He rode an incredible defense and Cam Newtons 1 great season to the bowl re: the front office, I've posted this before but bears repeating: Since Scherff was taken 5th in 2015, we've only drafted 3 O linemen in the first 3 rounds (Geron Christian, Cosmi and Stromberg) and we haven't exactly been spending money on good FA linemen This is negligence
  11. I can't get enough of how he keeps his eyes downfield and is willing to strike it into tight windows or make anticipations throws The pass to McLaurin left his hand when McLaurin was still far enough away from the ball its washing the stench of every Smith check down off and it feels amazing yes he definitely needs to look after himself a little more, we want him under centre a long time hopefully as the game slows down he has to improv less
  12. At risk of riling up all the Cousins truthers, even comeback wins with him just never felt sustainable. this feels different I'm almost uncomfortable with Howell's potential and week to week improvement, feels weird having a qb with arm talent, keeps his eyes downfield, can scramble, feel pressure and is built tough
  13. Most of us wouldn't even consider ourselves real fans any more if we applied level headed, considered decision making 🤣 This team is either elite or the worst team to exist in any sport. At any level. Ever. lost another few hours/days off my lifespan with that Hail Mary. but boy does 2-0 feel mighty fine.
  14. I'll take it over Grossman v Beck what did we all do in previous lives to deserve such misery
  15. It look like EB adjusted the plays to get the ball out quicker we haven't had a play caller who has adjusted mid game in a while
  16. Since Scherff was taken 5th in 2015, we've only drafted 3 O linemen in the first 3 rounds (Geron Christian, Cosmi and Stromberg) and we haven't exactly been spending money on good FA linemen This is negligence
  17. Watching the Browns game and the O line is so ugly Since Scherff was taken 5th in 2015, we've only drafted 3 O linemen in the first 3 rounds (Geron Christian, Cosmi and Stromberg) and we haven't exactly been spending money on good FA linemen This is negligence
