I don't think anybody thinks he will be a great LG, but if I remember correctly Whyle was an OK G for the Chiefs. He was only moved to T b/c of circumstance, and for some reason we chose to bring him in for the T role here... and keep him there too... I would not expect While to be some revelation at G, but I think it is likely he is a better player there than at T.

Unrelated but I rode greyhound back and forth from home n college. Majority of the time I had to stand in the aise in an overfilled bus. Greyhound don't give a flyin'... Yeah, I'm more than good throwing out EB w/ the bathwater. He is not the absolute flaming train wreck he was for the first half of the year where he seemed incapable of mentally comprehending that the goal of the NFL was not getting your QB sacked as much as possible, but he is still not good. And his player relationship skills seem to be poor at best.

I've been cool w/ that as the best case scenario for about a month now. 100% sure Ron is gone at the end of the year, but the benefits to getting rid of him now don't outweigh the benefits of keeping him till the end of the year. Just ride out the storm.

Tepper is outta his mind. We won't be competing w/ Carolina for any high end staff this offseason since no one will want to go there. I don't care what your contract says, how can anyone think its a good idea to hitch themselves to that owner who will impose his will on the draft and fire you in before year 1 is even up. I can easily say our situation will be more attractive than theirs.

I expect a lot of money to get thrown at team facilities this off season. Could not do much last year outside of easy installs like the increased ice baths.

All I'm sayin' is we will never have full time refs if they were good at their jobs. If I was in the ref fraternity and we wanted to get some of that sweet-sweet NFL bag... You have the power to help make that happen.

Maybe it is rigged... just not in the way we are thinking. If I had to map out a pathway to get the NFL to establish a Ref school and full-time job...

No for 2 reasons 1.) Its not a traditional time to hire a GM. You won't really see anybody hire a GM b4 the end of the regular season so we are not falling behind anybody by standing pat. You'd probably piss off the shadow fraternity by poking around executives of other teams right now. Good way to get your org blackball'd. 2.) Ron's contract is prohibitive, as he has GM-like control. You can not bring in a true GM as long as Ron's current contract is on the books... meaning your hiring a neutered dog. If you can convince a guy to sign and be that castrated animal and assure them that you'll expand his role after Ron leaves, OK, but you can't give it to him right now. Maybe that effects who you can get. I don't see a reason good enough to deal with those headaches.
