  1. Mahomie is the goat now. Man just lives to deny others rings at this point.
  2. He is so comfortable abandoning his mechanics, which as you outlined comes w/ a lot of good and a lot of bad... unless your Mahomie or WIlliams. I swear, given his comfort level and style of play I can practically guarantee this dude has thrown a left handed pass at some point in a game.
  3. Funny how Maye and Daniels are on opposite ends of the spectrum here. One guy needs to open it up more. The other guy needs to dial it back.
  4. What happened to your childlike sense of wonder? I say if the man is magic let the man do magic.
  5. Literal "it will go straight to my thighs" intangible. Makes sense why he runs fast I guess. lol.
  6. Didn't figure anything would come of this. Not surprised nothing did. Glad its over tho. One less thing to have out there hanging around.
  7. https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2024/02/07/top-quarterback-prospects-2024-nfl-draft/ 2024 NFL Draft Quarterbacks - The top three are certified studs. After that, is there still hope for a franchise savior? Caleb Williams, USC Williams can throw with every arm angle and snatch the ankles of unblocked rushers. His biggest haters have nothing to say about his ability on the field, which is normally a sign that he’s pretty good. Many analysts think he’s the best quarterback prospect since Trevor Lawrence. Some are taking it even further and saying he’s the best since Andrew Luck. Either way, he’s the clear top dog with a bright future. Player Comparison: Taller Kyler Murray (in a good way) Jayden Daniels, LSU Something clicked for Daniels in 2023. His film went from a player struggling to process the field to someone making confident, NFL level throws on a consistent basis. Throw in that he clearly packed on some weight and leveled up an already impressive rushing ability, Daniels is going to be a fan favorite in 2024. Player Comparison: Fox in Super Smash Bros but the dodge button doesn’t always work Drake Maye, UNC Maye is closer to Justin Herbert than Mitch Trubisky, but helmet scouts will still be nervous. He has a howitzer of an arm and can paint corners on every part of the field. If he continues on his trajectory, he can be a franchise cornerstone in no time. He was UNC’s second leading rusher in 2023 and is an underrated threat at the goal line. There’s a canyon between these top three prospects and the rest of the 2024 NFL Draft quarterback prospects. Player Comparison: Justin Herbert saying “Are you guys silly? I’m still gonna send it.” ... Bo Nix, UO Player Comparison: Fancy Kenny Pickett J.J. McCarthy, UM Player Comparison: The mystery box from Family Guy
  8. I really like the Johnson hire. He has worked with a couple of good developing QBs, most notably Hurts. Between him and Kliff, you got so much young QB introspective to use to help guide our new QB. I'm feeling pretty confident that he will at least get the coaching he will need to be successful. Will need more than that for everything to work out, but its a good start.
  9. I love the smell of avoiding the Chip Kellys of the world and hiring competent assistant coaches in the afternoon. Love the new hires. Really love bringing in another offensive guy with ties to working with young and developing QBs. keep 'em coming awesome-sauce.
  10. Mahomes has himself said he could not read a D until after he reached the NFL. I would seriously hope all 3 prospects are farther along the mental development path than he was, and I like to think they have all at least shown some flash that they are.
  11. Fair to question. But for me, his size wont matter one iota if he does not improve in the field of protecting himself. He can be built like a truck, but he can't go out there and take running back level punishment. Its not sustainable for anybody. Josh Allen does not even do that for an entire year, just when in playoff mode. Unless the guy is a Forbes-special 167 or 180 lbs, I'm far more concerned w/ teaching him best practices than I am about his size. and before I question any of that I'd be more interested in determining how much faith I wanna put in the guy who showed he was a top of the draft prospect for only one year. All these guys have Qs to parse tho. Jayden's don't scare me off anymore than Williams' or Maye's.
  12. I'm still not shaking the idea that we most likely end up w/ JD at 2. I'm not afraid of any of these guys in Air Raid. I think they can all run Kliff's playbook, but given his usage of RPO and Read Option w/ Kyler, JD runs what we have seen of Kliff's NFL offensive philosophy best. Our GM came from a staff that saw fit to trade up for a guy in Lance that had a massive dual threat upside, and JD is essentially a far better realized version of Lance. I don't think that rules out Maye by any means, I think the opposite, but its hard for me to look at the Kliff hiring and not think that presents a massive boost to a guy in JD's wheelhouse.
  13. Maye's willingness to shatter his own mechanics are exacerbated vs better D's that can bring pressure. It makes him do the off platform stuff more often and while he can complete some passes doing that here and there, only Mahomie and probably Williams are capable of doing that in high volume and not being disaster factories. Maye is going to need to spend a ton of offseasons really dialing in the consistency of his mechanics, and make the devotion on the field to revert back to them rather than freewheel in order to prevent the accompanying dropoff in accuracy. If he works hard it is fixable and the boost he will see to his accuracy from consistent mechanics will be noticeable. It will be mandatory learning for him as he will be an INT machine in the NFL if he does what he has been doing at the college level.
  14. For me. Quinn: C+ Not a bad hire, just not pumped up about it. Whitt: B+ Dallas wanting to keep him and having him on their short list means a lot to me. KK: A- Great hire. There are questions about his O but his XP with young high value QBs is insane.
  15. Raiders are S.O.L. Only way they move up to top 3 is if they have a per-existing deal worked out w/ the Pats to trade up in case the guy who falls to them is one of the 3 that they don't like.
  16. Another 1st post. Welcome to da fun bunch. I advise you to steer clear of the plumbing. I disagree w/ your post tho. Gotta take QB when your at where we are at.
  17. Man, I don't see the large gap between the big 3 that others do. For me it is so much like NFL.com's prospect grade where there is barely any separation between these guys. Sure they all excel in differing avenues but overall... near total wash for me. I understand that the media's almost universal understanding is that Williams is a cut above but I don't see it. Nor do I see anybody lagging behind.
  18. Its not just the timing on the flight that hurt Johnson, its that they found out he was canceling via twitter. Couldn't even contact us first? That would piss off any org.
