Yeah, I was flipping channels earlier this morning & stopped on FOX to see what crazy **** was happening. The host - no idea who it was - was just starting an interview with the woman who organized the Minnesota protests. He congratulated her for the great turnout then the camera moved to her. Her coat had "MAGASOTA" on her chest. I turned the channel, went upstairs, & showered.

So....about those loans to small businesses. I just talked to a friend of mine who owns a restaurant here in Richmond. He said he filed his paperwork within hours of the loans being offered & he's still waiting to hear if he's getting money. He said it's been approximately 2 weeks & no word. People he's talked to (not at the bank) have told him the holdup is at the SBA. For now, he's trying to drum up business, pay his employees & pay his bills. **** show.

I can attest to that for Virginia. I started filling out the online forms & got to the Employer page. There's no info on how to fill this out for sole-proprietor. I clicked the "Live Chat" icon yesterday & I was 192 in line. I waited 2 hours & nothing. I think they closed at 4:30pm. I tried today from 7:30am - nobody available until 8:30am. I'm now 175th in line. LOL Edit: NVM...Just got kicked out of the system so now I'm not in line at all. What a ****show...

I've used Turbo Tax for the past 8-10 years. Did either of you have to pay the IRS on the tax return they're using to determine your amount?

No. They will use your 2018 tax information - including dependents - to determine how much you get.

Just remember, it's based on 2018 taxes unless you filed before whatever date they're using to distribute this money. I haven't seen an "as of xx/xx/xxxx this will be based on your latest tax filing". My sons friend had a baby last year - he & his wife got their money but no baby money because he hasn't filed for 2019. Not so sure about that. My son has several friends who make much more than him who have already received their money. He's still waiting (he works for a county in VA so I know his pay is much less than his friends).

Yep* - mine is 25+ years old. I replaced the burners & "flavor bars" once. I gave it to my son a couple of years ago & he still uses it. *Most of the welds on the base broke but good ol' duct tape holds it together with no problem. The body is a freaking indestructible.

Plus you can replace the burners for <$100 if needed.

A friend of mine who works at Bank of America told me that her direct reports are getting paid overtime (double) during this. They are rotating onsite so they only have to work in the office 1 or 2 days per week other days working from home. No furloughs there, yet. Can't wait to see how much BOA gets from the bailout...

We know someone who works at the Masonic Home here in RVA. He has been told not disclose anything re: deaths at the facility but said that information is being reported to the CDC. 🙄 The deaths at the retirement home 2 miles from my house is now up to 45 as of April 14th. There were 32 deaths reported on April 7th.
