  1. True, it is just a drop in the ocean...but drops of water can eventually wear down mountains. (Sorry, I thought I was the Buddha there for a second...) But it IS significant for one reason: AB is pulling out of a deal with the Washington Commanders, not the old we-had-a-toxic-culture-but-we're-really-sorry-and-have-now-fixed-it-by-putting-my-wife-Tanya-in-charge Washington Redskins/WFT. Snyder and his cronies can't repeat the lie that it was done because of their old culture before the re-brand...AB's withdrawal as a sponsor was done in SPITE of the re-brand.
  2. Might want to hold on to your horses...Governor Hogan said they won't get into a bidding war with Virginia: https://www.wbaltv.com/article/maryland-washington-commanders-stadium-search/39442607 "I think (the Commanders are) using everyone back and forth as they have been for eight years. They're negotiating, pitting everyone against each other," said Hogan, suggesting the Commanders are setting Maryland, D.C. and Virginia against one another to get a better stadium deal. "But we're not going to get in a bidding war over them and we're not going to be proposing $1.2 billion for them to build a new stadium. If Virginia wants to do that and they want to go to Virginia, I would say, 'good luck.'"
  3. I think most people disagree that the uniforms aren't bad...they're terrible! Other than the matte finish on the helmet, IMO. No stripes on the pants? Shoehorning black into the color scheme...called Black For Black's Sake...non-matching number fonts on all three uniforms. Don't get me started on the white flecks on the numbers on the white jerseys...it looks like they were inspired by someone eating funnel cake and spilling powder all over their shirt. And the color is not burgundy, it's cranberry. Hail to the Cranberry and Black!
  4. Wentz threw a hissy fit when the Eagles drafted Hurts...who's to say he won't do the same if Ron picks a QB high?
  5. Wentz struggled with accountability in his last three seasons in Philadelphia and it hurt his standing with teammates and coaches. But it was the torn ACL that ended his 2017 season and denied him the Super Bowl run that revealed character defects and affected him in certain corners of the locker room. Sometime before the championship game, Wentz voiced his displeasure with the Eagles’ success to a group of other injured players, sources with direct knowledge of the incident said. One of the players immediately confronted him and the two eventually had to be separated. Wentz certainly had his supporters or those that sympathized with the obstacles he faced in Philly. If he was more successful, others would have likely been willing to overlook some of his personality quirks.
  6. What he said. 22 cases, 4 of which are criminal. And people are already making plans for him to be in the huddle in September. We could be wrong...some judge may decide not to press charges and just fine the heck out of him. In which case, that makes Ron and the Cmdrs. look kind of stupid for jumping the gun and getting Wentz. What was the hurry??
  7. Not good... Wentz struggled with accountability in his last three seasons in Philadelphia and it hurt his standing with teammates and coaches. Well that won't happen here. This team won't be making a Superb Owl run any time soon! 😉
  8. I found a soon-to-be-unemployed NFLPA bigwig who will likely need a job soon. Based on his credentials below, he would be a perfect fit for this team!!! Jason Wright needs to get on the horn to this guy ASAP... https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10028605-nflpa-managing-director-ira-fishman-under-investigation-for-misconduct More than six current and former NFLPA employees told Vice they "directly witnessed" Fishman making ill-suited remarks to women and that his conduct "affected the day-to-day work environment for female employees." According to Vice, female employees would send messages to each other from their desks to avoid coming face-to-face with Fishman in the halls. In addition, one female employee revealed little interest in a "substantial promotion" because she would have had to spend more time with Fishman. The employees interviewed also said Fishman appeared to enjoy when others were embarrassed, and he would "fart and belch in meetings, and shoot his used chewing tobacco into trash cans like a basketball, so that it would spatter on others." Fishman also allegedly used his master key to enter locked offices and his "drinking was the stuff of legend." He allegedly "drank regularly at work" and had a "stocked mini-bar in his office." In addition, before the NFL and NFLPA came to an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement in 2020, Fishman allegedly got drunk before a meeting and got into an argument with NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith in front of at least one player "that was so loud people present were astonished he kept his job." According to Vice, the letter also described an overall toxic work environment for women, who were often held to higher standards than their male counterparts. The NFLPA denied the allegations in a response to Vice. "We dispute any allegation that this is a sexist or toxic work environment. It is a disservice to the women and the men who work here,” the NFLPA said. The union also called the allegation that the NFLPA is an old boy's club "categorically false."
  9. In light of this team's horrendous record of abuse towards female employees,I can't imagine anything more damaging to this so-called professional franchise than to sign a guy with 22 pending sexual harassment complaints, including four of which are criminal complaints. Although I could see an Onion headline saying Watson refuses to sign with the Commanders because he would lose his self-respect... I don't care how good a QB Watson is or may be. There are 22 dark clouds hanging over this man, and even if they're resolved legally I have my doubts that his behavior will change much...all of the complaints indicate Watson has a twisted compulsion to engage in these acts, and was enabled by the good ol' boy system in the football world. Character matters...so find someone else to play QB. And if Watson comes here and we win a Super Bowl? What do you think the first questions that reporters will ask him when he's on the podium holding the trophy??? Maybe something about those 22 (and counting) complaints...
  10. I'm wondering that myself. From what I understand, it is hard to get women to come forward with their accusations in the first place...a fact which is well known by abusive men. And abusive men in power can get away with it unless there is something more concrete than just allegations. But a class-action suit certainly would get the league's attention. What bugs me is that creeps like Alex Santos and Larry Michael seem to have gotten away with their awful behavior.
  11. Oh they'll get the gameday experience right...if by 'gameday experience' you mean the new stadium will have: Overpriced, watery beer Stale peanuts (preferably from a defunct airline) Outrageous parking prices, even one mile from the stadium Poor plumbing Collapsible railings Toe-grabbing turf field, perfect for tearing ACLs and MCLs Tarped-over seats in the upper deck Non-working elevators Jammed toilets Idiot owner dancing in his luxury box
  12. You're probably right, but the Loudoun board of supervisors just voted against using public money for a stadium 6 to 1.
  13. If DC/MD/VA residents won't pay for the stadium, then soon we'll be hearing Roger Goodell on the podium: "For the first pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Commanders pick..."
  14. But Snyder won't do the right thing because he's proven time and again he's a vindictive, narcissistic, womanizing bully. The team is his toy that everyone admires and why they hang out with him...no team, no celebrity buddies. I just thought of this...Snyder may be really angry that he's being investigated by the NFL but the Cowboys aren't. His spite may cause him to release more emails to smear Jerruh...and maybe get another Raiders coach fired.
  15. Agreed. The fact that he didn't know how much Taylor meant makes you wonder if he did any research on the team at all...and using a different methodology next time?? How about actually listening to fan input instead of lying about it? These McKinsey types are the same people who lost the Vietnam war with all their stats and formulas measuring things that didn't matter. I don't think Tanya deserves a pass just because she's a woman. History is full of enabling women like Eva Braun. Her interview where she said the women's claims were "ridiculous" shows which side she is on. Wouldn't be surprised if she posts some Twitter rant someday and tries to slut-shame the victims.
  16. This article is perfect timing...it certainly relates to Danya, since I immediately thought of our Gruesome Twosome while I read it! 😁 https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2022/feb/16/the-dictators-wife-novel-freya-berry Velvet gloves to iron fists: how complicit are the wives of dictators? “We’re run by more basic impulses than we like to admit and a beautiful woman standing to one side apparently agreeing with everything you say is usually an asset, whether we like it or not. It does soften someone and whitewash them at the same time.” “Personal magnetism and charm is very hard to fight against. You look over here and you don’t look at the extrajudicial killings over there.” “How do you make your way in a man’s world? If you can’t have power yourself, you have to go adjacent to it. These women are playing for the highest stakes. If they lose power, sometimes they’re executed. It’s this bitter tooth-and-nail fight for survival while also maintaining serene perfection and femininity,” she says.
  17. Don't forget, Jason is a McKinsey type: Why do McKinsey types keep making the same mistakes? https://desystemize.substack.com/p/desystemize-8 https://www.strangeloopcanon.com/p/why-do-big-businesses-seemingly-suck Both are worth a read...
  18. With this latest Cowpukes scandal, we can see why the NFL hasn't been very proactive in going after Snyder: the NFL is just a big misogynistic frat house. I wouldn't be surprised if there are allegations against ol' Howdy Doody Goodell himself!
  19. On the contrary, he loves owning this team because it's the only way people are forced to treat him with 'respect' and call him 'Mr. Snyder.' It's the only way he can get his childhood heroes like Theismann to hang out with him too. He didn't figure that he would actually be held accountable for being such a total sleazeball, that's all.
  20. It's the kind of info that could bring down the league, so I'm not surprised that the NFL would support Snyder in order to protect themselves.
  21. The primary suspicion is that the NFL owners have been colluding to keep player salaries low, which is of course illegal. The email trove that was released (which led to Jon Gruden getting axed) hinted at this, with NFL lawyer Jeff Pash saying in a leaked text that keeping player salaries low was "doing God's work." I believe those emails were released by Snyder or one of his lackeys in an effort to smear Bruce Allen, which would be true to Snyder's vindictive nature.
  22. The Junkies were saying this morning that Snyder was probably bullied in school, wasn't good with the ladies, and sat around playing Dungeons & Dragons all the time. (As a former D&D player, I take exception to this...most D&D players were probably bullied at some point, and all of them developed more empathy for others as a result.) My response would be that the first two are probably true, but Snyder wouldn't play D&D unless he found a way to make money from it, like charging $1 every time someone had to roll the dice in the game, or charging for chips and drinks. Being bullied or being bad with the ladies doesn't cause someone to turn into a piece of vindictive garbage like Snyder, however. The Junks said today that an unnamed former coach of the Skins said when he took a job with another team that Snyder threw the man's nameplate in the trash, took a picture of it, and emailed it to him saying "This is what I think of you now." Sounds like the vanilla ice cream incident with Nolan... Snyder has proven his venomous nature, and it's clear his judgment is affected by it, like with yesterday's announcement of a sham investigation. He won't give up the team though...it's the only thing that allows him to hang out with the 'cool kids.'
