Whatever we do we need to stay far away from Kyle Trask. He’s horrible.

This makes me gut sick even to think about it let alone type it but I have a question that needs to be asked.
Assume the following:
1. Atlanta is on the clock and willing to make a trade with us.
2. The young qb that we love AND that Rivera firmly believes can potentially make a Patrick Mahomes type impact on our team in a few years is there for the taking.
3. However, the ONLY way that Atlanta will agree to trade the 4th pick is if we agree to send them ughhh...Chase Young.
4. Atlanta is not bluffing. There is neither the time nor the incentive for Atlanta to negotiate. No other combination of players, picks or cash will suffice. If we don’t give them Chase they have a deal in place with another team that they will take.
Tick...tick...tick...
What do you do?
A. Laugh at them and hang up the phone.
B. Give up a once in a lifetime edge player and team leader for a potential franchise trajectory changing quarterback?
C. Other.

NOTE: Neither New England, Washington, nor Chicago wants that pick to make it to Carolina. I can easily see Carolina drafting either Fields or Lance if either of them fell in Carolina's lap, because Sam Darnold is no guarantee at QB.
Carolina gave Darnold the fifth year extension and traded a 2 for him. They’re not drafting a QB.

John Keim on The Junkies just now and he basically said:
1) QB is definitely in play
2) He's trended toward day 2 pick and keeps coming back to Kyle Trask
3) He sees it hard to trade up but depends to what spot
4) If they did it, he sees future picks and keeping this years picks like what SF did
5) He explained to EB about picking a guy and who do they get rid of that Allen, Heineke and Montez are all back-ups - building a better roster theory
6) Getting Fitz allows them to go get their guy whoever that is. Darnold would not have allowed them that flexibility
Fire this entire FO and coaching staff if they draft Trask. He has no potential as an NFL player.

Not buying the Jones Niners connection either, especially since there’s a legitimate chance he’d have been there with their original pick.
You don’t know that he would. There’s a high chance he would have been off the board in the first 8-10 picks.

I apologize for putting that out there. That was ignorant of me. This is a football forum and not a political one so thus my words to start my comments.
Nah, miss me with that. You revealed your true colors. You knew exactly what you were trying to convey by saying that about Kaepernick.

After signing Fitzpatrick; QB isn’t a top need. If they really were interested in the Top 5 of tier one and wanted to trade up; they wouldn’t have signed Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick is 39. He doesn’t in any ways stop you from going after your QB of the future.

Yanno, I keep hearing people chat about moving up to take one of the top QB prospects, and I keep thinking "What must Fitz be thinking? Here we go AGAIN??!?"
He's 39. What did he expect.
1 hour ago, Rdskns2000 said:I don't see us trading up to get a QB4/QB5 of tier one.
Who cares. If you think a guy is that good it doesn't matter where he gets drafted in the first.

Uh, Justin Fields. Next please
“Nah, I don’t want a bonafide franchise QB. Next please.”
Edit: Miss me with that **** that Fields isn’t a franchise caliber prospect. Miss me with the lazy “character concerns” or “he’s literally Haskins” takes.

The fact that they haven't had any discussions with Schereff means that this situation is probably headed in the Cousins direction. They sill have until mid July, but this FO is very similar to the old regime where they don't take care of their own.
They just paid their center a good amount so idk what you mean

Who knows. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jax and NYJ work out a deal or Jax takes Fields 1. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Lawrence 1.
**** this makes things interesting at least. But I doubt it’s authenticity.
“ya I don’t want to play for the Jags. Put me on the Jets baby!”
Holy **** it’s a low quality image on April 1. How gullible are people here.

Even if he's a faller Fields won't fall to 19. At best he falls to like 9 ish and Denver takes him. If he falls past 9, there is no way New England lets him go.
That's why you trade up then

If I'm Montez Sweat I'm not interested in negotiating at present time. If he gets near his ceiling he can ask for money which together with Chase Young's second contract could put us in a spot where we'd have to spend 50+ million on two defensive ends.
Worth it

next year’s QB class isnt THAT bad is it?
It’s bad. The only franchise guy will be going way higher than where we would pick.

Then what’s our answer at qb? Who has “swayed” you?A first round QB. Anyone except someone who's shown he's a strict backup.

4 td to 1 interception and a big win over the Cowboys 25-3 before we hit our stride. You watched different games than I did.
He played ok in one game vs a terrible team. You get easily swayed by a tiny exception lol.

No. But I watched him play for us.And he was not good.

They could still trade out. You don't put up billboards of the guy you want after trading away that much. You protect it.
Everyone knows the Jets are taking a QB. There's literally nothing for the 49ers to trick people on. They have multiple guys they are interested in and one of them is Mac Jones. So miss me with the "NO WAY COULD THAT BE TRUE IT'S ALL A TRICK BY MEGAGENIUS KYLE SHANAHAN" bullcrap.

People stanning for Darnold and Kyle Allen in here but saying that Fields would destroy the franchise is a strange look.
35 minutes ago, Vanguard said:He had a five game win streak as a panther. I don’t care who they played that’s impressive.
I take it you haven't seen Kyle play for Carolina

There is just no way the Niners are taking Mac Jones over *that*.
Not sure if they are in love with Fields or Lance, but its one of them. The chatter is a smokescreen.
What smoke screen is there to do? They are locked into the third pick.

Trask is an UDFA talent. There’s zero upside with him. People are just looking at the stats and thinking he’s good like they did with Haskins.
4 hours ago, DWinzit said:Of course I posted 2 sentences and you quoted only one, lol. Certainly they aren't going to trade for him today.
He is a top QB just like Big Ben was. If this was to turn teams and fans have a way of getting over accusations. Also see Ray Lewis.

QBs of the future don’t come from after round 1 unless you get extremely lucky. Like extremely. Teams that plan on getting their QBotF from rd 2 or later usually fail, actually almost always fail. Just bite the bullet and trade up now so you know you have a franchise QB.
Rookie QB or Veteran QB for "Next Season"??? (I didn't bump this, but I ended up being wrong anyway....)
