I am in agreement that I think right now he's probably in the middle of the pack in terms of starters...which is good considering that was his 7th career start. But some of those throws in the second half were awful. Offense sputtered in the second half. The Falcons matched their yearly totals in sacks. At some point it's not all on the offensive line.

Atlanta has not scored more than 25 points this year. I fully expect that to change on Sunday.
-
Anyone else notice this? Looked like they were arguing. Was Brissett thinking he was going in for the 2 point conversion?

-
Was anyone at the game last night? Is it true that Bieniemy was calling slow developing plays which resulted in most of the sacks?

You don't drop back your rookie quarterback 55 times in a row without one designed run play behind this offensive line. You also don't randomly forget that you can blitz the opposition and wait an entire half to do so. Both coordinators suck. Both are Rivera hires. All of them should be gone.

Del Rio and the defense are getting (rightfully) dragged but this is just insane. Absolute 100% stupidity.

That's a shot at Bieniemy. Robinson also said something similar after the Buffalo loss.

Can't wait for the press conference where he sits there with this awkward look on his face talking about "cleaning up the ****" while referring to himself in the third person.
Then this clown will ramble on and on about how they have to do better early while praising Chicago's offense.
Just pathetic platitudes from this loser. Fire them all.

The truth hurts, hopefully it'll light a fire, most likely not though.
Rivera already made a comment in September about going 8-8-1, so this fire ain't getting lit any time soon.

He's not wrong, but should an owner be tweeting this out publicly?

I'm shocked that people are angry and/or surprised about this. The cancer that was Snyder still has his fingerprints all over this team. The reboot doesn't start until this entire coaching staff is removed.

He's going to get fired after the season is over, and the new regime has to be fully empowered to find their QB this off-season.
Fingers crossed.
Although I don't want the new regime to write off Howell so quickly.

He's going to break the single season sack record.

So many failures in the NFL with young QBs. Common theme among coaches on that front.
A. Can't process the field fast enough
B. Work ethic
Howell certainly has B. And I suspect he's fine as to processing the field quickly too but will see. I am definitely optimisitc about him. As Keim likes to say his work ethic reminds him of Kirk when he was in the building.
This was evident in the first preseason appearance by Howell. Yes, it was against 4th stringers, but he did not look completely lost. I distinctly remember Matt Corral looking very lost in that game. I don't even know if he's still on a roster and he was drafted before Howell.

I don't fear Heinicke even a little. Bring him on. it would be fun.
Barring an injury I don't see the Falcons benching Ridder. They are doing an experiment kind of like we are with Howell.

Great bounce back game from Sam and Bieniemy. Called a fairly balanced game and Sam executed it well. It's still too early to crown him as the guy going forward, but it's definitely trending upward.

17 of his 19 sacks have come when he's had 2.5 seconds or more to throw. He's 10th of all quarterbacks with average time to throw.
He also has the second lowest play action drop backs in the league.

I thought this was a decent answer, but his refusal to admit that Robinson ran the ball well and effective was weird. Also he admits to helping put together the roster.

We won because AJ Brown randomly fumbled after catching a big bomb and we got away with a facemask. The running strategy is overblown, we averaged like 3 YPC.
Yeah we should just stick with passing the ball against a team that has a much better defense than Buffalo did.

The rushing attempts, yards, and TOP gave you a blueprint on how to beat them last year. Last season when the team had less than 100 yards rushing, they were 2-4. With 100+ yards rushing, they were 6-4-1. Howell is young and has a better arm and is more mobile than the crap we had last year. But it doesn't mean there should be a 4:1 pass to run ratio. It's not sustainable.

Yeah anyone with over-enthusiastic dreams of EB being the HC here needs to let it go. Harris (and the GM he hires that shares his values) isn’t going to be on board with a guy who says he doesn’t care about numbers lol. Peace.
I don't want to read too much into his comments here, but I get the sense that Robinson was upset with the play calling against Buffalo.
Why Bieniemy would say that "we didn't do it good" when referring to passing and rushing (while Robinson was averaging 7 YPC) is bizarre.

Does Gruden think it's scheming or just the receivers not playing up to their level?

I nominate Desmond Ridder as a stud for this game.
