Wentz is better than at least 18 quarterbacks on this list and that's including Winston, Bridgewater, and Garoppolo.

Did you…did you see the post I just made ripping that entire BS QBR apart? I’m not typing it again but it is completely meaningless.
Wentz instantly becomes at the very least the second best QB in this division right now...maybe the best.

If only there careers weren’t on two *completely different* trajectories at the six year mark.
Alex Smith was given up on for a younger, unproven quarterback twice after "winning" all of those regular season games. Kind of similar with Wentz, if you think about it.

Nick Foles won the Super Bowl. I think Wentz harbors a lot of resentment over that.
They don't go to the Super Bowl without Wentz. He was injured during the game they clinched the division after leading them to an 11-2 record.

#9 in QBR last year. HAHAHAHAHA

Again with stats. Alex, who is definitely very mediocre, is light years ahead of Wentz in the “winning football games” category. You know, the one that matters.
And I wouldn’t go bragging about not extending him just yet. Ron might go full YOLO any second.
Alex Smith was 32-34 in his first 6 seasons as a starter. Wentz is 44-40-1.

This fanbase is insane. We just got a top half of the league starter for basically peanuts on a prove it deal and they'd rather stick with the guy who luckily made it on a roster because a 38 year old man hurt his hip.

People are acting like we didn't just sign a guy who's been in the top 12 in QBR for all but two seasons (rookie and last year with the Eagles). Wentz is leaps and bounds better than Heinicke...and pretty much every quarterback we've had start since 2018.

LOL. This is the Alex Smith trade all over again except with a worse QB. Use up all cap space, sit out free agency, give up valuable draft picks for a guy who go can’t help but win 6-8 games, thereby cementing a draft slot that falls short of the top QBs in a good draft. Wash, rinse, repeat.
This fan base never, ever learns.
Carson Wentz right now is definitely better than Alex Smith when we got him. We also didn't extend him like we did the guy who had thrown for over 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns once in his career and once went a full season without throwing a touchdown to a wide receiver.

Prescott, Carr, and Murray
One playoff win between the three of them.

Our Cap will be fine and a top 12 starting QB for two 3rd round picks is awesome.
I think there's a recency bias to this trade. People just remember his meltdown against the Jags and this "locker room cancer". Because Wentz was 9th in QBR last season, 11th in 2019, 12th in 2018, and 1st in 2017. His outlier years were his rookie season (2016) and his last season with Philadelphia in 2020.

I actually like this move. A lot. It's a one year "prove it" deal, and we did not give up any 1st or 2nd round picks. We can still draft a QB at #11 if the one they really like is there.

Oh come on. It's clearly just a he said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said at this point.

That means not only do they want his potential criminal cases cleared, but his civil cases as well. I still don't think he's worth the price it would take to bring him here.
-
Rivera & company cannot be that tone deaf to think, "that sexual harassment stuff happened with the prior staff...we had nothing to do with that", is a great defense to bringing a potential serial predator to this team.

Washington should probably make a Godfather offer to the raiders and Carr. Significantly over- pay for him in picks and contract. Screw it.
Then we could go 9-8 or 8-9 for the next three to four years and get bounced from the playoffs after the first round in one of those years? No thanks.

Houston needs a backup QB.

Lock is awful. Heinicke isn't very good but he's significantly better than Lock. He shouldn't be considered value at all in that trade.
The more I look at it, the more surprised I am at how little the Seahawks got back in return.
This is the main thing that makes me think they are going to target Watson with the picks they just acquired. Lock might be going to Houston.
-
As of right now, the starting quarterbacks of the AFC South are:
Davis MillsTrevor Lawrence
Ryan Tannehill
Carson Wentz
There is no way in hell I'd give #11 up in this years draft for Wentz. But he's slowly becoming the "best" of the realistic options.
-
Can't get mad at them for trying to land Wilson. You cannot force him to go where he didn't want to be. At least he's out of the NFC.

Not sure how accurate this is, but this Wilson trade takes Denver out of the Wentz speculation.

This Wilson trade makes me think the Seahawks, who now hold the 9th overall pick in 2022 (if I'm reading the deal correctly), are going to use the picks to go after Watson. That way Watson gets out of the AFC and the Texans then get the picks to further their rebuild.

This is what frightens me the most.

I forgot that the Falcons and Lions both pick before us, and both could use a rookie quarterback. I still think the Falcons go Willis.

Unless something changed with Keim, he alludes to Pickett being the top guy for them. But Willis definitiely is being getting many mentions of late.
I think Keim is more plugged in than other beat guys, and believe him. IMO, if Pickett is the guy for them, they should try and trade picks with the Panthers.

Big difference I think. The idea that Dan Snyder was the dude hopped on Haskins and the FO wasn't at all was a narrative even before the draft.
I cannot shake the feeling that Snyder is going to meddle his way into decisions again.

We are seriously underestimating the possibility that the Colts might just be that dysfunctional, and that this trade could wind up blowing up in their face. I am also 'meh' with regards to Ron's decision making when it comes to coaching and personnel, but as a leader? I have high confidence that he could be the guy who can get through to Wentz. Even if it's just for this year.
