Firing Schottenheimer was the first black mark under Snyder's ownership. Gibbs 2.0 to Zorn was the second. Vinny Cerrato and Bruce Allen's entire tenures were next. Then the RGIII debacle. The cheerleading scandal. Letting Cousins walk for nothing. Now the sexual harassment and continued embarrassment on and off the field. The "end" was a long time ago. Take your pick from the above as to when that officially was for you. Letting Cousins go for nothing was mine.

The white uniforms are awful. Black uniforms are the best, IMO.

I don't hate it. I don't like it. I've been apathetic for the last 3 years or so, and remain that way. Nothing about this excites or disappoints me. #TakeCommandIGuess

You’ve never watched Carr clearly
I've watched him. He's done nothing in his career to justify any hype about landing him in free agency or a trade. He's mediocre.

Entertaining the idea of getting Carr is legitimately baffling to me. Same for Justin Fields. It's Rodgers, Wilson, or a rookie. Anything else will be a failure, IMO, and doom Ron.

You're aware of all the in house sexual assault and stuff already here, right?
Yes, and I am also aware that this organization has pushed the message hard that they are turning a corner and trying to get it right. Rivera cutting Guice solidified this message. Pursuing Watson makes them extremely hypocritical.

I will never be a fan of this team again if they even attempt to pursue Watson.

We did actually win 4 games against teams that scored more than 17 points...which only happened once in the prior three seasons. Heinicke is a guy you want on your roster. He can come in and win games for you. He's actually exactly what many people said early on he was...a younger more mobile Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I don't understand why people are either upset or crowing over the fact that Taylor is a backup. That was literally everyone's baseline opinion after the Tampa Bay playoff game. Yes, he was largely still unknown, but everyone had the same refrain after that game: "he's at least good enough to be a backup on a roster". This season has simply proved that. He's an asset and probably one of the top 5 backups in the league.
-
Taylor is going to be an amazing backup in the NFL for years. That's his ceiling.

Crossing my fingers for this (I'd take Kyle Allen too at this point).

We're going to have a "Gilbert's Groupies" thread on here tomorrow if he starts and plays decent aren't we? He looked decent in a game against Pittsburgh last year.

The way I understand it, a player could produce a positive test result but have a viral load test that shows they are not contagious (for vaccinated players only) and they could play. It all has to be done by 4:00 p.m. on the day before the game. So if I'm understanding the new rules correctly, we could have multiple people return off the list by Sunday?
-
Can anyone explain the new return to play covid rules for vaccinated players?

I actually enjoyed seeing the stadium full of Cowboys fans. It is a perfect reflection of how badly Snyder has eroded the fanbase.

Look I love the TH Story his heart, but let’s be honest he doesn’t have anNFL arm. Not even close. It was very noticeable when Allen entered the game, you could see the difference!
Yep. It was pretty apparent that Allen has better touch on his passes.

Sucks. Logan Thomas was a great weapon for Heinicke. Bailed him out on that touchdown pass too.

I'm willing to wager that this is Heinicke's team next year. And I'm starting to believe maybe more. His biggest asset is something that doesn't show up on the stat sheets: his moxie. And it comes through when we need it to most.

Not sure how that refutes anything I said (it doesn’t) but sure why not!
Scott Turner doesn't play defense. Or coordinate it.

The 4 game losing streak happened because we couldn’t put the ball in the end zone. The Saints scored some points when the defense was worn out but the next 3 games were 100% on the offense for not taking advantage of opportunity. Against Green Bay we were inside the 10 3-4 times and scored 10 points. Against KC we turned them over 2-3 times and scored a whopping 3 points off those turnovers. How is that on the defense?
I seem to recall the defense just...standing there when Winston threw the hail mary before the half. I also remember them not being able to stop a nose bleed, let alone an NFL offense. I also remember Hopkins missing multiple field goals against Green Bay. Yes, averaging 30 points given up in the first 8 games was absolutely on the defense. Heinicke had to play hero ball just to eek out 2 of those wins.

Considering red zone offense is a big reason we’re not 7-4 I’d say that take has not yet reached its expiration date
I'd say the defense allowing an average of 30 points per game, pre-November was a bigger reason.
Worst team in the NFL in terms of points allowed. Starting in November, it has gone down to 18.5 per game and they rank 10th in the league.

Unless the D regresses. What's missed in Heineke's resurgence since the bye is the defense. Their play has allowed us to play this type of football, where Heineke doesn't have to try and make hero throws that he can't make. It's a lovely unison of complimentary football that we typically don't play. Even in 2018 when Alex was starting, it was abundantly clear every time we played a legit team, we got our asses handed to us. Not a chance that team beat Tom Brady and the Bucs.
Good point about the defense playing much better since the bye. Heinicke is 4-4 as a starter when opposing teams have scored over 17 points this season. Alex Smith was 0-5. Heinicke is much more of a gamer than Smith ever was for this team. And I also do not think this team is 5-6 right now if Fitzpatrick was never injured. Mostly because in 2 of those wins, Heinicke had to play hero ball.

Heinicke...might just be the guy. And I'm starting to think that there is going to be no "fitztragic" like regression where he has a total meltdown game.

I can't believe people actually thought that there was some genius misdirection going on behind the scenes. This guy is either over his head or just flat out dumb.
